We were looking for a fancy place to eat out and liked the look of the 4* hotel so assumed the restaurant in the hotel would be equally top rate. We were sadly disappointed.
The restaurant decor and seating was lovely, comfortable and top rate. The restaurant and bar was empty except for two men sitting in the corner - which, on reflection, we should have taken as a sign. Our drink order was taken and then we got the menus. A good marketing ploy as we'd already ordered drinks so couldn't get up and leave.
The menu was very limited and didn't have anything on it that the poor translation made sound remotely appetising. The waitress came over and recommended strongly the local speciality of saffron risotto. It sounded reasonably edible so we ordered it. But it was awful - tasted of nothing at all, so when she offered parmesan cheese we took it, however then it just tasted worse. We ate as much as we could not to seem impolite and made a hasty escape.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, mainly due to it's limited menu and also the atmosphere was very uncomfortable and we felt like the staff were staring at us all the time, and looking down their noses at us.
