BFF Foodie return critique of La Malinche Spanish and Mexican Tapas, last night. Firstly, this place is fantastic made extra special with good company and conversation. To start a great Pinot Noir (Henry Thomas) delicious with a delectable crushed berry finish
Starting off with the delightful Datiles - Bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with Monterrey jack cheese and Yuca Frita- Crispy cassave with roasted jalapeno aioli sauce; these yucca fries are not your normal deep fried variety, nice presentation and the jalapeno aioli had just the right amount of heat. This was rounded out with a crab soup (not on the menu) a must get - 4.5 stars! After a nice second helping of that HT Pinot, it was on to the main event - Bruselas - Steamed Brussels sprouts, garlic, butter; Champiñones con Ajo - Sautéed mushrooms garlic and olive oil perfectly prepared and Pincho de Camarones - Grilled bacon wrapped shrimp skewer with Monterrey jack cheese along with Chuletitas de Cordero * - Grilled lamb chops, fingerling potatoes in a demi glaze sauce. Now I'm not being effuse when I say those lamb chops and shrimps were DA BOMB! The smoky bacon juxtaposed with the spicy accompanying sauce was divine. 5 stars.
Along with the delightful company the dessert of Sopapillas and Tres Leches was also a hit. This place rocks!
My absolute favorite Happy Hour and brunch place in the DC area! Sangria is incredible and every dish on the HH and brunch menus is delicious! Love the staff! I bring everyone I know here and they all love it!
One of my favorite restaurants to come for a casual brunch. It’s definitely a hole in a wall but I highly recommend. The owner Mr.Lucas is so sweet and welcoming. The service is also good. There is street parking available and parking garages near by but you do need to pay. I recommend using the park mobile app.
Brunch is a fixed price for menu listed food and drinks. The food was delicious and our server was super sweet and attentive. One of the owner's, Lucas, ensured everything was to our satisfaction and was so humble and sweet. I'm looking forward to a return for dinner. Make sure to check them out!
I love this restaurant! I come here all the time! I had brunch today with my boyfriend and we both enjoyed it. We sat outside because it’s pretty nice, but there’s socially distanced indoor seating as well. The food here is amazing! We tried the bottomless brunch option, which was great because it allowed us to sample multiple food/drink options. All the tapas are so delicious, and the staff are so welcoming. I highly recommend this place!
One of the best brunch deals around. Great service, the food is fantastic. In the heart of downtown silver spring. Parking is alright. The parking lot is about 5 mins away near too terrible
How has this hidden gem been here for years and I've never stopped by!now Iwanted to give this place a higher score but service here is horrid. We waited forever for food. Our waiter kept giving us the give me a sec finger. Food overall is really good. Order the French toast, dates and steak with eggs. Price is very reasonable for bottomless brunch. $35 for unlimited food and drinks is great value. I would recommend this place for large parties as well. Food quality is fresh and the kitchen is great with constantly refilling your table.
Great meal outdoors! The mojito was particularly good. We had to wait a long time to get our bill, but it was excellent beforehand! Highly recommended, especially if you like tapas.
Amazing! We celebrated our sisters and niece birthday today, all the ladies had more than enough of delicious options to choose from. Staff and service was EXCELLENT! definitely worth a visit! Say hi to Lucas , he is so friendly! Gracias por su atención!
This restaurant experience was ABSOLUTELY LOVELY ! We were sat down quickly with no reservation. We had about 5 different waiters interacting with us throughout our experience but every single one of them had the best energy, they were so kind ! The bottomless brunch menu is great and full of a lot of options & flavors for about $42-$52 each I highly recommend the huevos rancheros 🍳, patatas bravas 🥔, and the French toast they were delicious (also yes brunch does come with some great beverages as well like they’re delicious mimosas 🥂). They’re Chipotle sauce was the best sauce there too by the way, & overall the peaceful, & friendly atmosphere was great ! The only thing I was not really a huge fan of was the bacon wrapped date it didn’t seem to pair well as a combo maybe a bacon wrapped mini sausage would pair a bit better together (just an opinion/suggestion). Overall the experience, food, and drinks were very delicious & I can definitely see myself returning to try other things.

Everyone is really friendly and bilingual, portion sizes are appropriate for what’s advertised in the menu (“tapas” are meant to be snack-sized plates, not full sized entrees) Ambiance was elegant yet welcoming and even romantic for a date. All in all it was great experience and will definitely be coming back to try out their desserts
Apparently, this is a local well known hole in the wall. It's been around for a long time I am told. Very clean and friendly service. Monday thru Friday all you can eat. Saturday & Sunday is an all you can eat and drink to my understanding. I had atleast 10 different items on the all you can eat list.
