A Lot of Flavor NOT Just Heat. Went here for dinner.
The food is great! The menu is bilingual in that the menu is Spanish with English subtitles and descriptions. "Enchirito" isn't anywhere to be found - the first hint that the food might be good!
The salsa is so-so but the cheese dip is wonderful.
Ordered the half-order of guacamole. It came out in a four inch monkey bowl overflowing with really flavorful and fresh guacamole. More than enough for one or, more likely, two. The chips seem home made and just the right combination of thickness and texture - with great flavor.
They brought out soft tortillas, both corn and flour, at my request. The corn ones were good - better than most places. The flour ones were great - they may not be house made but they sure look, feel, and taste like they are.
I had the Chile Rellenos with Rice and Beans. The rice and beans are good but the star of the plate is the pair of Chile Rellenos. These are not the long cheese stuffed peppers deep fried to a overdone crisp. These are the other kind the nice soft egg washed and floured hockey puck ones stuffed with cheese and gently cooked to a soft golden brown. They are then placed on the plate and covered in a wonderful sauce which is itself worthy of note. The combination of the soft rellenos and the sauce is wonderful as it gets absorbed into the coating. The peppers are very flavorful - not spicy in the least. If you crave hot there were five different bottles of hot sauce on the table. Off to the side of the dining room there appeared to be about five times that many more sauces. Do yourself a favor and sample this dish before you drench it in a hot sauce.
All in all a great meal.
My new Mexican favorite in OKC. Since a couple of my favorite Mexican places have closed in OKC, I have my new favorite Mexican spot in El Asadero. This authentic Mexican food all of the way! The only Okie/Tex Mex thing they have is the cheese sauce but everything else is authentic with an awesome flavor. I have not had anything bad from the sopes, chile rellenos, and their Enchiladas which are a unique style from the state of Jalisco, Mexico. The owners take pride in using high quality ingredients and the service is very good. They have homemade corn tortillas on the weekends which are delish. They use fresh Mexican cheese in their Enchiladas and Chile Rellenos instead of the usual cheddar and monterrey jack cheeses. I encourage everyone to try this Mexican jewel that is located just south of downtown OKC.
Every Sunday for Breakfast. Soooo good! The salsa is top-notch with chunks of avocado swimming in the smokey heat. Any of the chicken is exquisitely seasoned, wonderfully moist and tender. Asada is of higher quality and more gently cooked than most other places in the neighborhood. Lot's of wonderful seafood and the usual Sunday soups. A tiny language barrier with a few of the staff, but they are all very sweet and attentive. I'm completely hooked.
Favorite Mexican Restaurant. We drive from the northside to eat at El Asadero about once a week. Their mixed fajitas are excellent and also the chicken quesadillas. Try their version of enchilladas, I usually get 2 chicken and 2 cheese that are servered with salad, potato, carrrots, and avacodo on top. And they have the BEST chips a salsa around.

Very authentic salsa & cheese sauce is great. Individual cheese sauce & salsa served to each individual. Menu includes fish items. Guacamole is fresh.
Ok its like this- its 2 pn Sunday afternoon. We are the only anglos in the house. The food is beyond good. Its authentic. Its excellant. Why arent you here eating ?
Best Salsa. We have recently discovered this restaurant and although we eat out daily and probably average one mexican meal a week, EL Asadero has the best Salsa I have ever tried. The food is very well prepared and the servings are more than adequate.

Fairly good. I went there on the second day they were open, and it was a bit rocky. But the skeleton of a good cook is evident so I'll give it another try soon. I had the Sunday Menudo, which is a real test of a good mexican kitchen. I'd rate it a 6 on a scale of 10, just needing a bit more flavor than the lime, cilantro, onion and jalapeno served with the dish could provide. The sauces served with chips were excellent, and the hotter salsa that I asked for was delicious. Bottom line, if they get better, and I feel confident that they might, it'll be a great addition to the area's mexican cafe offerings.
Don’t let the outside fool you! This place is great! Clean inside. Friendly work staff. The salsa is fresh and test better then your everyday Mexican restaurant. My pork tamales where perfect. Not to much breading. The pork is seasoned perfectly. My rice and beans where good nothing out of the ordinary. I do recommend and will be back!
A great place to eat and comfortable location. The food was great. From chips and salsa to the main meal. Friendly staff and good drinks. Might need better ventilation because you can feel there is a lack of air circulation so I am not sure what it's like in the summer. We went in the Fall.
Amazing authentic Mexican food! Definitely reminded me of home. Menudo was so good and so was the red tamale
We came here on a suggestion. We had the molcajete and the 7 mares soup. Both were good. It has a diner feel so I’m interested in trying breakfast. I bet it’s good. We will be back. Service was a little slow.
Update: had the seafood Empanadas. And you would think ummmmm maybe not so much. Let me tell you this is some of the best food I’ve ever had. The flavors there were on point. Like drooling good. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO GET THESE ASAP!!!! Nom nom

The menudo was amazing. Definitely give this place a try.
We do not speak Spanish but even through the language barrier we had an amazing time and great server. The food was so delicious, we will be back again!
Great place to get a bite of comida mexicana. Delicious food and superb service sets this place apart from the rest.
