Beautiful delicious food and bakery items. The pumpkin bread is divine. I've been back twice. The taco salad was FULL of chopped fresh veggies and just what I needed and wanted. It was VEGETARIAN...YAY! My companion said the fish and chips was delicious (Snapper!)
The 3rd visit was to stock up on the wonderful cookies, granola, carrot and pineapple muffins, and slices of pie, for the trip home.
The first time for breakfast, fried potatoes were very good, unique, albeit a little overdone. The scrambled eggs were not quite done, But overall very good... service excellent.
Definitely NOT a hotel but certainly a very good breakfast establishment. This place was pretty busy but a large facility so no problem getting in and serviced for a party of 6.
I told you all about the gumbo diner on the seawall, this place is very good as well. Absolutely worth a visit and the next time we are in town, we will eat here again and try something else on the menu.
Sunflower Bakery & Cafe drew me in with their cinnamon roll photos. I was surprised by all the delicious offerings on their menu and bakery and had to sample a few.
Brunch is every day until 3 pm!
Open Wednesday - Monday from7 am – 5 pm and closed on Tuesdays.
My Order
I ordered their Chicken & Biscuits which comes with fried chicken strips, two eggs you style and biscuit and sausage gravy. I like my gravy on the side so my food doesn't get soggy and everything was very flavorful. I also order six Beignets and they were made fresh and were tasty.
When I vacation in Galveston again, I will defiantly return to the Sunflower Cafe & Bakery for a delicious bakery. Their bakery offers items from their giant cinnamon roll, chocolate chip cookies, cheesecakes, and muffins.
What a great local spot! Worth the wait, quick table turnover, friendly staff and delicious food! Thanks Frank, manager, for sharing some of the history and introducing us to their amazing tomato basil soup! The waffles were delicious, the quiche was flavorful and bakery items were on point. Try their beignets! We will definitely return on our next visit to Galveston!
Omg this place is great. The potatoes with my eggs had so much flavor. The service was excellent thanks Jennifer! Carrot and pineapple muffin to die for. Will be back only downside is parking as everywhere in Galveston.
Breakfast was gorgeous and the bakery goods looked mouthwatering delicious. Inside is very spacious but fills up quickly so going early is key if you don’t have a reservation. There is outdoor seating as well but it was to hot to stay outside. The flower garden adds so much charm to this already beautiful cafe.
Starting off with the drinks the water tastes clean and the sweet tea was a massive home run. The sweat tea was absolutely fantastic. My girlfriend got the chicken and waffles. The waffles were nice and fluffy but the exterior had a nice crunch and the same goes for the chicken. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with an excellent fry. My mother went with crab cakes which were fantastic as well. The only thing I would change about the crab cakes is I wish they were a bit crunchier on the outside but that’s just my preference. As for the omelette that I got it was good. I got chicken and peppers with mine. The chicken came in good sized chunks and the peppers were nice and crisp. Personally I wouldn’t order it again but it is by no means a bad dish. We got an additional loaf of bread and two jars of peanut butter for the road and given how everything else was homemade we have high hopes for the bread and peanut butter. Our waitress Jennifer was extremely kind and did a fantastic job. 100% would come back!
This restaurant food is amazing good!
We went to get breakfast and we love it
It was full inside but we were able to seat outside it was amazing weather not hot and just little chilly! With the coffee make it great
If you get there at the right time, you can get seated pretty quickly. We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive to our order. This is a kind of place where everything looks good and you decide that you want to come back again. Don't forget about their pastry side of the house. Those were just as good.
Wonderful restaurant with a beautiful bakery, delicious food plated so nice, and great staff. I enjoyed the bread pudding french toast that had a fabulous crunch and loaded with fruit. I didn't even need a drop of syrup. Others ordered the crab eggs benedict, a classic eggs benedict, and a key lime pie. All were delicious. Finished off with a visit to the bakery to get goodies for the boys that went fishing. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
