Hands down, the most amazing dining experience of my life! The atmosphere was elegant (in a beachy way), the staff couldn't have been more professional and delightful...now to the food...WOW!..absolutely fantastic! If you're in Galveston, it's worth a visit!
The most amazing food I have had in a while. We were told by our waiter to try the red snapper scilliano amazing!!
We stayed at the San Luis and came here for dinner 3 times. First on Monday they offer a family special. Bowl of Salad, spaghetti bolognese, fried chicken(best fried chicken I’ve ever had), choice of dessert (cheesecake or chocolate mousse cake) for $38. It’s enough to feed 3 adults comfortably possibly 4. Insane value for the quality of food you get.
The next night I ordered pepperoni pizza. It was incredible and the last night I got the chicken Luis. Great as well.
If you have room for dessert, the tiramisu is good and the butter cake is even better.
Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Loved that they serve fresh bread with oil. For Appetizers we had Mozzarella in Padrlla (3" fried sliced mozzarella) and the Calamari. Both were extremely bland we used the seasoned oils from the bread to try and save. For main courses we had the Chicken Bianca Pizza and Chicken Luis. The entrees were both very delicious.
Service was good and the atmosphere was nice.
The service from our waiter was great attentive, but not pushy, the view at this restaurant is amazing, the food was good, and the drinks were great. We were in from the Houston area for a conference and stopped in for food and drinks. It was a very relaxing atmosphere.
Visited the Grotto restaurant in Galveston and might be the best Italian food on this island. The shrimp & crab pasta was delicious.
Came here for my anniversary with my boyfriend. Service was great. We had reservations but got seated late, thankfully the service made up for it, staff gave us appetizer on the house and a dessert for our anniversary. Food tasted great, didn’t feel rushed even though it was near closing time. I would definitely come here again.
The food and service were great. Nice selection of food options. Atmosphere was quiet and there wasn’t a dish in our group that wasn’t delicious. I had the gnocchi which was perfect!
We went for an event which came with a free app with entree purchase. The place was empty & they told us there were reservations so wr could only sit at the bar. That was fine, but strange. Especially, if you have an event going on you would think they would save room for those. The restaurant probably didn't start getting busy until 45 minutes later which we were tabbing out.
Regardless, our bartender ROCKED it serving us & making all the drinks in her own! Food was delicious. I had the braised pork ragu with pappardelle pasta. It was so rich & the portion was large. I took the rest home & had it for lunch the next day. My friends both got the pollo milagnese salad which they enjoyed. The meatball appetizer was also good. It is pricey, but will definitely return for ther Sunday dinner special. They do have a decent happy hour which I forgot to take a picture of.
AMAZING! Really great experience!
Starting with the ambience, lighting, music, such a romantic experience. The food was outstanding as well. We had snapper in two variations and both dishes were great. I’ve ordered a red sangria for myself and it was sooo good. Talking about a desert- SOO GOOD! (I feel like I’ve used those words before already 😅), but for real , we had a cheesecake and their signature dessert - yummy!
Service was top notch!
Our huge compliments to this beautiful place and personnel. We’ll definitely come back next time we are in Galveston.
This place was super amazing, the food is superb. I ended up going back 2 days later for confirmation and yes it was still amazing. I would have to say even better the second time. We went on the 13th or the 15th of February to celebrate valentines day and again a few days later. It's April 18th today and I plan on going Thursday for three plates to go, well actually two because ima eat one in the parking lot before I drive back through that Houston traffic to Katy. Please enjoy and even though there's others Grottos closer, I'd rather go with what I know is good. Definitely worth the drive. Wish it opened earlier than 4 and later than 9 lol
Chloe took care of us. She was very friendly, smart, and took great care of us. The bread was soft and good, served with a dip that was great. Had oysters in butter for an appetizer. Fantastic. Dinner for both of us was a special of blackened Snapper in a red and white sauce, with crab and muscles. Wonderful. For dessert I had a huge choloate cake, great, wife had mango sorbet which she loved. Beautiful restaurant. A fantastic evening. We will be back.
