Haven't been there recently, but in the past, they've always had some great fried chicken and chicken fingers. Also a great little salad bar. We would usually get the salad bar and split a plate full of chicken fingers. I miss those days. I wish there were more of these around. Salad bars are almost extinct up here now days.
Another chance at another "Mom and Pop", and another pleasant experience. We weren't starving, but missed breakfast as we started out today, so it was time for a lunch break. We searched online for such a diner, and scored again! I had country fried steak, baked potato, green beans, and tea. All that came with a huge cathead (biscuit). The wife decided to order small so she ordered the fish sandwich, fries, and cup of chili. We took over half of it home. There was enough food in either order for both of us! The food was great and came with real service. It was refreshing to see the wait-staff work together and serve the customers so well. I dearly hope Glenda's will be open at our next trip through. Maybe for breakfast. I'm told it is better than lunch.
Very busy this Sunday afternoon. Service was a bit spotty and certainly not efficient. After our orders were taken (we both had the daily special) the food was slow to come out. And when it arrived most of the food was not hot. We visit here everytime we're in the area. So maybe it was just a bad day for them.
We stopped in looking for some good sit down food and we were not disappointed! Food was really good. Came out piping hot and very tasty! Loved the atmosphere and our server was fantastic too. Did I say the food was good... understatement. Loved it.
We have gotten breakfast at Glenda's just about every weekend for the last year. Drive-thru line is sometimes out in the street or in the turn lane waiting to get into the parking lot. They always move at a steady speed. We've ordered biscuits every time - best biscuits ever! Country ham slices so big they don't fit on the already oversized biscuit. Bacon biscuit with grape jelly - da boom! Everyone is friendly. We've never had an order messed up. Well worth the wait every time!! Love you guys.
Great food. Good people. Just moved here and love the place. If you like Southern cooking, go here. If you dont like Southern cooking, keep going and save room for the rest of us. Large portions and fresh. Prices are good too.
