Sandra was our server and she was so funny and nice! We went there relatively early Saturday dinner. We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes, Soul Rolls, Catfish, Salmon Croquettes, and Sweet Potato Pie with ice cream. Overall food was good and service was smooth. My only complaint was Salmon Croquettes which tasted good but were not hot. They were barely warm even though the plate was hot. I should have asked to take them back.
Honey Glazed Fried Chicken dinner comes with two sides. I selected the house potatoes and the macaroni and cheese. I also bought a side order of the candied yams (they’re a must have)!
This place is great!! I wish I would have visited sooner and I could have eaten their food more than once. I had the honey glazed fried chicken and the sunrise drink. I ordered my dinner to go but as soon as I walked in the place, I wish I had reserved a table and eaten in. It wasn't very busy on a Wednesday night but I can see how it would be on a weekend. The only downside to this place was parking. It was clean, the lighting was perfect and the music playing in the background was at the perfect level. This restaurant is the only reason I look forward to coming back to Cleveland.
I left Columbus on a mission to try Zanzibar Soul Fusion. Let's just say the food did not disappoint. I enjoyed the ambiance and most importantly the food taste amazing. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone craving soul food.

This restaurant is AMAZING, and I am talking about my experience at the Shaker Square location. This is my second time eating at this restaurant and I came from out of town. The food is delicious. The taste, flavor, temperature, portions and quality. The prices are very reasonable. But the customer service and hospitality is Top Tier! Everyone working at this establishment is very pleasant. Our server Tanisha provided thee Best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. She was kind, informative, personable, respectful and not overbearing. I wish all places had such amazing individuals working at their establishments like her. She made the experience awesome!!! Me and my fiancé laughed, smiled, and kept telling each other how wonderful the service and food was the whole time. Thanks Tanisha for being part of making my birthday special. This was the first place we came to when we got to town. Definitely recommend anyone visiting the Cleveland area to come to Shaker Square Zanzibar and we are definitely coming back to get some of that good food. You don’t find genuine customer service like this too often these days. I recommend the jerk wings, soul rolls, Mac & cheese, and soul pasta. Those are the dishes I’ve had on my visits. Oh and get the koolaid, you will not regret.
Staff was beyond helpful and friendly. Food came out fast, was fresh, and delicious. The music was a perfect blend of 80s and 90s RnB which gave it a great vibe. Will definitely be coming back.
My dad and I came here for the first time last week. Amazing food. Never had turkey chops and they blew me away. The iced is very sweet but with a little water it was delicious.
Visited Zanzibar in shaker heights nice atmosphere great vibe and the service was on point. My food was good i had jerk wings this time and i always get the house potatoes really good. 👍🏽👍🏽
The food, ambiance, portion size, customer service, all were great. Amir our waiter gave excellent appetizer advice and was some of the best artichoke dip I’ve ever had. Great experience.
