Never would have thought I would have found absolutely outstanding Chinese food in Charleston, WV. Eaten in all the big Chinatowns. Ranks among the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. I

Chins...By far the Best!!. The Chin family are gracious and welcoming, their food is by far the best Chinese I have ever eaten. I have enjoyed their food since childhood and I now continue that tradition with my own children. Since the restaurant reopened the crowds are larger and at times you may have to wait a little longer on your food however I for one don't mind. Their food is freshly prepared and made to order. The Chins have a wonderful restaurant and a beautiful family...Best Wishes!

Awesome is the word that comes to mind when I think of Chin's. It is a family owned restaurant with a loyal following. Mr. Chin knows customers by name and his waitress, Amy, knows her diners well. Amy is by far the best waitress I've ever encountered. She always provides just the right amount of attention to each diner.

It has been my experience that many Chinese Restaurants use cheap ingredients. You know how it is to bite into a sweet and sour pork and realize that it is all fat and chewy. Not the case at Chin's. I promise your meal will be fresh, hot, and comprised of quality ingredients.

As for the lone negative review, I have never had a bad experience at Chin's. They recently reopened after a fire and business is booming. I think a little grace is in order as they are experiencing huge crowds of loyal customers returning to get the food they love. Recently, I too was unable to wait long enough for a to go order at dinner time. I could tell that Mr. Chin felt bad having to inform me that it would be at least a 45 minute wait. I wasn't upset in the least. I'm just happy that the restuarant is doing well and satisfying loyal customers like me once again!

Incredible Chinese!. Thank goodness Mr. and. Mrs. Chin reopened their restuarant after the fire last year. I don't think I could do without Mrs. Chin's eggrolls. You won't find a better one anywhere.

Mr. Chin is a gracious host, and treats all customers with respect. Long-time waitress Amy takes excellent care of her tables. The new look of the restaurant is beautiful. Light and airy and open. A perfect atmosphere for a sit-down, family meal. Since the reopening, I've noticed that parking is not always available and the tables are close to full. If you are patient while Mr. and Mrs. Chin accommodate the large crowds, you'll be very glad. I went for lunch a few days ago, and found the staff to be completely on top of everything. Lunch was served quickly, and steaming hot.

The fried rice may be the best I ever have had, and I'm also a big fan of the hot and sour soup. Every entree I've ever ordered from the menu is delicious and made with top-quality ingredients, and I'm not sure I can pick a favorite. But whatever you do, don't leave without ordering at least one of those delicious eggrolls.

Answer to bad review. I have never had anything bad at Chin's. The food is fabulous. Service is great. To answer the lady who said "it must be a family place, because a baby was crying". Chin's is a family place. That's why we all love it. As for the baby crying, were you born an adult? I have been many places to eat, where adults are rude. A crying baby is a blessing to have around. So if you don't like family and babies, eat at home. Chin's is number one to this grandmother of 5

Mrs. Jodi Miller. Chins is my favorite Chinese restaurant, not only in Kanawha Valley but compared to the many places I've traveled. Their food is so freshly prepared, never any of the prefrozen "chinese meals". I hate eating at the buffets because the food is always the same no matter which one you go to. They must order their food from the same restaurant vendor. Chin's however is definitely a cut above the rest. The service is always excellent and friendly, a must if you are a chinese food lover.

One of my favorite chinese restaurants. I'm sorry about the fire. I know it will be up and, running soon and sure the new location will be a success. I miss the fried rice, and moo goo gai pan. Best in the valley!

Never disappointed. Me and my husband went here on our first date, 19 years ago. Today I was treated to lunch by my husband who surprised me, with chins.. Not disappointed at all.. The food was Exactually the same as it was 19 years ago. I have ate at many Chinese places over the years, and still have not found one of them to come close to the great food at chins. Their egg rolls have always been out of this world. And the flavors of their sauces are beyond compare.
This will always be #1 in my book for Chinese food.

THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN THE WORLD. Chin's Restaurant is by far the best Chinese restaurant in the Kanawha Valley and the entire world. Their dishes are all prepared to order. This is evident in the freshness of the ingredients that they use and the great flavors of all the dishes I have tried. Among my favorites are the standards: Moo Goo Gai Pan ( white meat chicken stir-fried with mixed vegetables), Vegetable Lo Mein (great variety of vegetables), Pepper Steak and Pork Fried Rice (their Fried Rice is actually stir-fried unlike what most places try to pass off as Fried Rice). They also offer more authentic entrees. Among these, I like Mo Po Tofu (soft tofu mixed with minced pork in a black bean garlic sauce and green onion that is out of this world) and Szechuan Spare Ribs (bite size ribs marinated with just the right amount of spices that will make your mouth heat up ever so slightly - yummy!). So, if you are looking for a great Chinese restaurant in Charleston, WV, go to Chin's Restaurant. How could I forget, they have the BEST Egg Rolls!!!!

So sorry to see Chin's closing. We've been going there for several years and it has been our favorite place for Chinese food. We will miss the coziness of the dining room and the efficiency of the takeout service. Our entire family will miss the great food and friendly service.

We come here regularly, and have never had a bad experience. The food is so good, I don't even like take-out places anymore. We've brought a few friends and family members with us lately, and have "converted" them, too.

Have loved their food for so many years! We started out with the restaurant on Washington Street and have been going to Chins in Kanawha City since they opened. We moved to NC 26 years ago, but made sure to go to Chins every trip back. I was there last week and got 20 un-fried egg rolls to bring back to freeze. Cooked several tonight and they were fabulous, as usual! Thank you Chins!

Found this place over six years ago and finally got to come back with my wife. She's not normally an Oriental food person but we both absolutely loved the atmosphere, the owners and definitely the food. This time we had the dumplings and the Tahitian Chicken with fried rice and egg drop soup. Neither of us have ever had that type of chicken but it was a very pleasant surprise. Their hot oolong tea was so amazing that my wife made me pick up an extra box of it to take home. We will definitely go there again when we're in town and look forward to talking with the owners again and an awesome meal.
