It is easily the best Indian cuisine in Utah, if you include their Sandy location. I have actually only had the same caliber of Indian food in the U.K. The lamb rogan josh is exquisite. I like it with naan bread and onion salad.
Had dinner with my family here tonight and everything was delicious. Been to Taste of India but Royal India is way better. My faves were the butter chicken, lamb briyani and chicken curry. It was our kids first time eating Indian food and they all loved it. Make sure you get a glass of mango lassi to go with your meal and finish it off with mango ice cream. Love love love this place.

Delicious food! We've been here 2x and it's sooo good. You have to try it. Very fresh, tasty spices, and the lamb saag was very good. The pappad mint chutney is quite good also.
Fantastic food, friendly service--you can't go wrong with Indian food at Royal India, have enjoyed the place for years

Trumps Taste of India any day. Royal India is an amazing Indian restaurant on Main Street in Bountiful. This noteworthy little restaurant is as cute as Bountiful Restaurants get. I love the decor, full of Indian paintings and views of Main Street. When we come here we always start with the Palak Paneer which are thin but huge chips that comes with a mint dipping sauce. It may sound gross but it is delicious. Also we get the garlic naan which is an Indian flat bread baked in their clay oven and tossed with garlic. It is very tempting....more tempting than chips and salsa. Next we get the vegetable curry, and chicken tandoori. The vegetable curry is very smooth but unlike Thai curries. It is very good when paired with their batsmati rice. Their chicken tandoori, also cooked in the tandoori oven, is full of amazing spices such as turmeric and tastes amazing. The service is excellent and you can tell they care about their customers. At the end, at the hostess stand, there is a little bottle of this interesting seed. It is fennel seed. It ends a great meal very well and tastes like licorice. I love Bountiful Royal India and as you can see, I definitely will be here again.
Not as consistent as one would hope but usually good. Love the Lamb Vinaloo and Shrimp Coconut Korma. If not burned, the Pashwary Nan is a great treat.
Consistent. Reliably good Indian food -- today our dinner was Lamb Rohan Josh and Aloo Gobi. Menu mostly of the standard dishes found in US South Asian restaurants but they seem more carefully prepared and fresher tasting than some competitors. No beer.
Smallish place, seldom noisy even when moderately busy. Am puzzled by some other reviewers' comments about shabby decor--atmosphere seems above the average for a small ethnic restaurant, admittedly not a high design / high capitalized constituency. Attentive staff.
Parochial Salt Lake City residents should remember that it is about as quick to get from central SLC to central Bountiful as it is to get to SL County's inner suburbs. Bountiful's Main Street is pleasant.

Best Indian. I love Indian and this place is GREAT for my Indian cravings. I have tried their Shrimp Coconut Korma, Lamb Saag, and Chicken Tikka Masala and they have all been great. My favorite so far is the Chicken Tikka Masala and I haven't gone back since I tried it. I always get their Garlic Naan which is simply delicious dipped in the sauce. The rice is very flavorful and sometimes I just eat the rice on it's own. Their dessert Kheer is also really yummy. Even though I have been eating from here for the last couple of years I always get it as take-out and eat it at home since the restaurant itself is pretty shabby looking. However, the service is very nice and you get large portions, enough for 2-3 meals. They are also accommodating to your needs (My sister requests only 2-3 pieces of lamb in her meal and it always comes with that exact amount, and they even give a discount for it). I have also never had them mess up an order, even though I have eaten from here atleast once a month for the last couple of years. Amazing food and great service, what more could you ask for?
Great Indian and even better service!. Love this restaurant. Yes, it is in kind of a goofy location. But the food and the service is fantastic. Can't go wrong here. Be sure to try the naan!

So the food was amazing tasting. I didn't really get full for the very high price of the dishes ordered. I think this place is trying hard to be very upscale and chic in a weird location. I would expect a more family friendly environment for the location. The service was very friendly, however, I got the distinct feeling that they were just 'tolerating' our kids (my son is autistic) and would rather have adults only.
All the food I've had has been yummy. They will customize the spiciness of the dishes to your preference. The waitstaff is attentive but not overbearing. The ombiance is nice. I love the tablecloths.
Excellent little North Indian restaurant with well-prepared food and kind service. We ordered:
- rogan josh curry (lamb in a creamy sauce)
- baingan bharta (roasted eggplant curry)
- aloo paratha (flatbread filled with potatoes)
- mango lassi
This was plenty of food for two moderately hungry adults with leftovers for lunch.
The rogan josh was very good: the lamb was tender and the sauce creamy and balanced. The baingan bharta was quite mild and a little sweet. The paratha was nice, if a little underwhelming.
All in all a delightful place with a good selection of classic Indian dishes.
NOTE: Their "mild" and "medium" spice levels are barely noticeable. We ordered one dish medium and one mild, and they both had essentially no spice. I actually wish we had ordered "hot" for a little bit of kick.
A must try. Somewhat expensive, but these days what ain't! MUST TRY the Saag spinach curry! So good! It's moved to my number two spot for Indian as its location is convenient to my home. However, the tiny main street location leaves you wanting...
It's not THE best Indian cuisine ever, but it IS the best one in the area that I know of.

I always get butter chicken and buttered naan. My husband gets chicken tikka masala.
They use quality meats and everything has a good flavor.
Pay close attention to window signs to find this restaurant. You have to go through two doors to be inside. I walked right past this place the first time I visited, it's a little easy to miss if you aren't careful.
An excellent choice for Indian food in Bountiful! The spices were flavorful, and the portions were generous. Good atmosphere too. This will be our new go-to spot for Indian food.
If you’re not a Utah native, you’ll want to ask for at least one heat/spice level higher than you think.
There lamb saag is amazing! Rich, creamy, thick the best I’ve had. And I always get the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan.

I've tried the expected kurma, tika masala, saag, and a few others in a lot of Indian restaurants in the valley. Royal India in Bountiful is definitely my favorite. Great food, nice people.
This is one of my all-time favorite meals. If I could only eat one thing the rest of my life, it would be Royal India's lamb saag, fish curry, shrimp coconut kurma, and garlic naan. So yummy. I truly consider this the best Indian food in Utah.
