Okay, after having eaten in the restaurant and then having takeout, I'm ready to say this is a solid 4+ Vietnamese joint (for my non-Vietnamese self). Each dish we've had during our visits, from their appetizer spring rolls and dumplings, to the pork vermicelli, to the tofu Pad Thai for my veggie eating daughter, to their house specials (the tumeric chicken is packed with flavor), to the pork lemongrass bahn mi I had tonight, are rock solid. What put it over the top for me? The not-so-simple baguette. It was the epitome of the French/Vietnamese bread you would want to make a bahn mi sandwich exceptional. So if they're paying attention to that detail, they're trying to do their best. I'm coming back, guaranteed.

Today after an amazing hike I was in search of something quick and refreshing!!! Walked in to Hêt Say let the server know there are three of us and we where seated immediately!!! It did take about 8 mins to get our drinks which other tables did come in after us and received theirs first. I ordered the following: Side of Pho Noodles $3.00 Side of Steamed Vegetables $3.30 Side of Vegetable Broth $3.25 Water with lemon or lime free Totaling $9.55 without taxes It was delicious

I try to get all of my friends to try to the bao buns here. They’re so good, and all the rest of the food I’ve had here is just as good. Has veggie friendly options as well. The servers have always been friendly too!

Craving true Vietnamese flavors? These place delivers! Didn’t take pics of all the items we got but can confirm the way they prepare their food to be the real deal. The banh-mi had was served in a bigger bread than typical baguette (which was a plus haha) and is closer to what is used in Mexican cuisine tortas. Friendly service, prices are reasonable of similar Austin type of restaurants. Location is nothing to brag about but clean.

Went to Het Say Vietnamese Kitchen today. It was really good. Best Pho we’ve had so far in Austin, especially at $8.50 per bowl. We also tried pork bao buns which were really good too. Definitely coming back to try more of their menu. Service was friendly and good too.

After being away from authentic Vietnamese food for over a year, I was so excited to be making a trip back to Austin, which is home to dozens of Vietnamese restaurants! As soon as my plane landed, I searched for "Vietnamese food near me" and looked for the most highly rated restaurants I could find near the airport. Het Say Vietnamese Kitchen stood out, so I jumped in my rental car and drove there immediately. I was politely greeted when I entered and told to sit wherever I'd like. I chose the Pho Het Say (Dac Biet), which is the fully loaded Pho bowl, and an order of shrimp spring rolls. The food arrived very quickly, and in moments I was in gustatory heaven. The Pho broth was very savory and well-made, the amount of noodles generous, and the various meat selections were also plentiful. The shrimp spring rolls were freshly made, and I ate them with heaping amounts of sambal oelek (chili paste) from the bottle. Het Say Vietnamese Kitchen delivered on the goods; this is a fantastic example of Vietnamese food in the Austin area, and is now in my top 5 for Vietnamese Restaurants in Austin.

Het Say is a great humble Vietnamese restaurant for Asian comfort food. It's quiet, small and a calm place for an easy dinner out. With tasty menu items, you can't go wrong with their specialties. The fried pork egg rolls and bao buns are very delicious. We also ordered chicken fried rice, pad thai, and pork ribs. Each dish was very flavorful and did not disappoint. You should definitely give Het Say a try!

Wow! This bowl is massive, and the broth is amazing! The service was super quick! Wish the meat were fresher and tastier. The beef slices were overcooked and chewy but for the rest, great comforting pho bowl!

Great bahn mi, the bread makes it so much better. Beef was cooked well and the mayo was superb. Highly recommend if you are into bahn mi sandwiches. This place is one of the better places to get it! Worth checking out

This is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants. You get unique dishes that aren’t commonly available and are so good. Definitely recommend their pork belly and egg, turmeric chicken and yellow curry.
