We were in the mood for Tapas & wine. Sangria 71 was a pleasant surprise. Walking in the main entrance felt very homey. This restaurant is separated into 3 sections. We decided to sit in the bar area for the romance swaying through the dimly lit room.
We were offered the happy hour menu in addition to the dinner menu. I’m overjoyed since the happy menu really reflects what it should be. Btw, Sunday is 2 pm to close for happy hour 🤩.
The blue point oysters were as good as it gets. The dish emanating immense flavor was the chick peas with spinach. The paella for 2 is sufficient for 3 actually.
We truly enjoyed the meal and look forward to returning again to try more tapas. 👍👍
Excellent service, dishes that delight. Priced better than the competition- a hidden gem you must try! The lunch special is on point ~ sangria could be better but it wasn’t bad.
The Catalan crème is a must try.
HAPPY HOUR! This is the place to be … tapas on deck …. Good drinks. My parents and I make this a weekly visit.
The stuffed mushrooms are unbelievable, their empanadas are fresh, and homemade, the shrimps are perfect …
Great Sangria options and lots of tapas to choose from. They have Karaoke and other themed nights so check before you go. There's three separate dining sections so don't worry if you don't want to be where the music and singing is. You can always request to sit somewhere else. Really enjoyed the branzino, scallops with lemon sauce and the fish croquettes. Excellent menu options even for kids.
Delicious Spanish food! The tapas portion is bigger than I expected, but good value for the price. Love the octopus! Will come back for the paella festival!
I dine here frequently and am never disappointed! Always enjoying the paella, sangria, shrimp in garlic sauce or the lobster special! 😊
I always traveled far to taste some really good authentic food from Spain.
It is simply hard to find.
Well, this place is five minutes from my office and I was invited by a friend.
Service was great, reasonably priced.
Highly recommend anything from the seafood selection.
Dining by the bar is also a great option if the dining room does not have space.
We live in NJ but are on LI for the weekend and decided to try Sangria 71 Island Park. Our waiter Alberto, was professional and
Attentive. We have eaten at several Spanish restaurants but the food tonight was exceptional!! We will definitely be back
The octopus and calamari are very good starters. Can't go wrong with any of the paella options, the classic, the seafood or meat only. I had the meat only, which was overall great but the beef was a little mealy for some reason. Of course the sangria is a must.
The food looks better than it tastes and is a bit underwhelming. The drinks and sangria..as its name refers to..are amazing
