Pooja Indian Grill is a great place to get your Indian food fix. It's been around for many years and is a great place to have lunch or dinner. I have many friends that look forward to dining at Pooja's.
Great food and service. The best in West Sacramento/Sacramento! Lunch and dinner buffet are great!

I asked Google maps for restaurants near me, and this was close by. I haven't had Indian food in a while, and it's been a favorite of mine for decades.
What a treat! The atmosphere shows huge pride in Indian culture, and I was there around 2:00 pm. They serve lunch specials from 11 am to 2:30 pm, and they have this lunch special with 6 different items (rice, naan, tandoori chicken, etc). The price is $14.99, and it's a bargain.
The decor pales into insignificance compared to the food. My lunch was too much food for one person, but it was so delicious, I over-ate with enthusiasm.
The different dishes are gently spiced for the American palate, but the flavors are so astonishing and rich, any more heat would diminish the fine nuances of the flavor. The naan was hot, with a perfect soft center and crunchy surface.
Every dish was perfect, and with 6 very different elements, that's difficult to achieve. It was a triumph of excellence.
I took my time. I savored every dish, every bite. I could feel myself getting full, and my body was saying no, but my taste buds and sensory systems were saying "Oh, just this once, treat yourself". 🤣
So I did.
I'll be back. Now I know what to expect, I'm going to get a to-go box right from the outset and put half away for later. Or take a friend and get two plates to eat off.
I'm looking forward to eating there with friends who enjoy Indian food. Particularly if they have never been there before.
If you go there because you read this review, tell them Richard sent you. 😁
This is one of the better Indian restaurants in town , off the beaten path a little bit but well worth the drive. Get your lunch special or for dinner get the feast. delicious. aromatic. Beautiful arrangement. Nuce atmosphere once you get inside. If I'm craving Indian food this is my place of choice.
This place serves some amazing Indian food. You know a place is good when its own people come to eat there, and here they definitely did. I hope the lunch buffet reopens soon because being able to eat as much lamb and goat curry as you want with that delicious naan is amazing. Even if they don't reopen that though, the lamb curry is a must-have.
This is our favorite Indian restaurant in all of Sacramento. The food and flavors just take over your mouth in a rich form that leaves you smiling (no lie from this mouth). I've tried many places but nothing beats Pooja's. They really are so nice there and the food and price can't be beat. They are off the beaten path a little and worth the trip. Wanted to make sure I put our 2 cents in!
Loved the maharani thalli, especially naratan korma was best ever in it. Bhatura chola was delicious.
