Union Station

This station is the most beautiful one I've ever seen, with exquisitely shaped and carved ceilings. Above the entrances to other areas of the concourse, there are numerous statues that resemble warriors from Greek mythology, which looks very cool. The station also houses many restaurants and shops, where you can enjoy a meal and do some clothes shopping.

I always like coming here when I have to take a train. The renovation of the station some years ago was very well done and the station is beautiful. There are stores for shopping, restaurants and fast food places, and of course easy access to the trains and buses that use this terminal.

Historical and cultural. Massive area. Very busy with activities. Things to buy and variety of coffee shops and restaurants.

Very close to the National Mall. The ground floor has lots of amenities. There’s a Shake Shack amongst other shops and restaurants. Arrive early and grab a bit before boarding the train to Baltimore, New York or Boston. Terminals are just beyond the stores and restaurants with easy access to boarding the train. Also, the subway can be accessed from just a few steps and escalators below.

I was absolutely blown away by my recent visit to the Washington Union Train Station. I had never been before, but I had seen it in so many movies about DC that I had high expectations. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. From the moment I stepped off the train, I was struck by the sheer size and grandeur of the station. The architecture was absolutely astounding, and I couldn't believe how clean everything was. It was like walking into a palace! I was pleasantly surprised to find that there were plenty of dining options available, including a drugstore on the lower level that came in handy when my mom and I first arrived in the city. We were able to grab a quick snack and some essentials before heading out to explore. But what really impressed me was how smoothly everything ran. The trains arrived like clockwork, every 10 minutes, and the attendants were incredibly helpful in answering any questions we had about which stops to get off at to reach our destination. It was so much easier than driving into the city, and way more enjoyable and convenient. There’s even a sizeable and private lactstion suite! As amom of three small kids, I would have appreciated this because I've NEVER seen this before. Overall, I was so impressed with the Washington Union Train Station that I've already made up my mind to travel by train whenever I visit DC in the future. It's an experience that I would recommend to anyone!
