A small "off the beaten path" cupcake store that rivals Georgetown cupcakes, although they serve much more moist cupcake options. While they don't have the sheer number of flavors that Georgetown cupcakes offers, they have a few unique flavors and their cupcakes are bigger.
It is also attached to a cafe and has a much nicer area to sit and enjoy a midday treat.
Stopped in Georgetown just to try this place out and we were not disappointed. They had really good lattes and I tried the chaider, it had a nice presentation and great flavor. For food we tried the tessita cupcake, carrot cake cupcake, and the bee sting. The cupcakes had really good icing to cake ratio. The tessita was definitely on the sweet side, too sweet for our liking for a breakfast item definitely more of a dessert. I wish we had grabbed more to bring home!
I stopped into Baked & Wired with my sister and my niece. We picked up a few goodies. The cupcakes were excellent. The young lady in charge of the door was a little power-hungry. I was raised right. I know how to close a door.
Nice quaint bakery in Georgetown with lots of different varieties and choices. The cupcakes were really rich and shareable. The marshmallow was a cool quirky little concept and the kids loved it. The snickerdoodle was good but just a tad bit too hard for my liking. Would totally recommend and take some time to enjoy the surrounding area if possible.
Baked & Wired is Washington DC’s lesser known and hugely underrated cupcake shop. While not many tourists know about the shop, you can see the locals line outside it until the shop closes at 4 pm. There are 3 main categories to choose from: chocolate base, vanilla base, and carrot base. I tried vegan Oreo cupcake (chocolate base) which turned out a bit sweet for my tooth. But I’d recommend the chocolate cupcake because it’s not that sweet.
There a lots of great cupcake places in the Georgetown area but Baked & Wired has got to be my favorite place! Fun cupcake flavors and a great variety. The cupcakes themselves are delicious with the cake part very moist and the perfect sweetness to contrast the frosting. Their cupcake frosting is wonderful and well made. Definitely my pick for one of the best cupcake places in the Georgetown area!
The best coffee I had in dc this trip - and delicious biscuit too. I wish they did the biscuit sandwiches here but this location is still great with outdoor and indoor seating and so many cupcake flavours.
These are by far some of the best cupcakes I've ever had. They are large, but light and not too sweet. You can easily eat a whole cupcake or two and not feel overwhelmed. Our group tried the Strawberry, Peanut Butter, Raspberry filled, and a chocolate one, and they were all incredible. We can't wait to go back and try the blueberry!
Best cupcake I’ve ever had. Dense, delicious and flavorful. We tried the dirty chai, and the peanut butter cupcakes. The cold brew coffee was good and perfect with the cupcakes. Super energizing treat.
cozy coffeehouse vibes with freshly made baked goods. Indoor/outdoor seating. Everything from bar seats and tables to couches to lounge on. Get there early for the best selection of baked goods. (The goat cheese biscuits are my fav). And the chai is deliciously spiced.
