Anchor Allies is awesome! I was fortunate to secure their restaurant for my retirement party. The staff was accomodating, food great but most of all they did everything. My guests had many compliments on the attentive staff, the food and how everything was making sure we had a great time. I have eaten here on several occasions and never bee disappointed. If you haven't been there, make it a point to check them out! They are the bomb!
Anchor Allie's is an outstanding place to grab a bite to eat while in VA Beach. Not only was the food on point but the service was too notch too. This would make a great regular spot to visit. Thanks Holly!
Came here for Breakfast today..11/5. Had Lisa as a superb waitress. Had drinks before Breakfast. Lisa made them perfect. Really busy place on Sunday , which is good, and that tells you something. If your traveling thru the Norfolk area, like I am. Definitely stop by Anchor Allie's. You will really like this place. Ask for Lisa!.
We loved the coffee drink menu. The caramel latte and the maple spice mocha were really good! The shrimp and grits were flavorful. I’ll be adding spinach and red peppers to my recipe going forward. Our waitress (I think she’s the owner) was very nice. Food was hot and delicious.
The atmosphere is welcoming and the name matches the theme. I love the artwork on the wall. The service was great and we were seated quickly. The food was good. Viewed the drink menu and the list invited me to come back. Early morning I just got an apple juice to go with my breakfast. I didn’t understand why it was t packed or that it was a wait. The food was good. It’s a really good breakfast spot.
Very nice place. Breakfast was great and staff was wonderful. I do wish the home fries were cooked more, instead of soft potatoes. But overall we will be back and definitely recommend.
This was my first time dining here at this place and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with the food!! There food was very reasonably priced and the portions are very much worth it. I had the impossible bowl, the grits, and the pancakes. The grits were okay but the other two were phenomenal! I will definitely be coming back. Let me not forget the amazingly cheap and great tasting mimosas!! The staff there were all very polite and friendly! I highly recommend this place.
Second time is a charm! Came here again and had the pancakes, turkey sausage, and home fries. Amazing!! The omelet was also amazing!!
Our server Trish was such a joy to be with! Very attentive, amazing personality, extremely polite, and so friendly!! No wait time either, food came out quick! Loved it!!!
Food is good. Breakfast sandwich was a little greasy but still good. Cinnamon roll is one of those big jumbo ones on a bread plate that is great to share.
The atmosphere is open and can get noisey with bigger groups and people who are loud.
Nice variety of food and drinks. Great for a picky eater. They had a mimosa that came with a bomb pop popsicle in it.

My wife got the biscuits and gravy - some of the best I've ever had! The biscuits were perfect.
Their biscuits are to die for!! I felt like Bob in What About Bob when he is eating the chicken dinner with Dr Marvin's family & is moaning & going on about how delicious it was. The biscuits & gravy are the best I have ever had. To be honest, I am from the west & that was the first time I have had true southern biscuits, but I can't imagine them being any lighter or fluffier. And the gravy did not have that nasty bandaid taste to it that pretty much every other place I have had biscuits & gravy at have had. It was perfect! I wanted to ask the chef for the recipe. They were amazing! My husband loved all of the food he got as well.
Heavy armed forces appreciation feel. Definitely a good look!!! Service was awesome and food came out hot and quickly. The burger was cool but a little dry. Overall a place worth visiting.
