Enjoyed a wonderful brunch this weekend of Virginia-sourced foods. Menu was interesting, food was well prepared and delicious, staff were courteous, helpful and knowledgeable - all around great experience. Highly recommend.
I went for breakfast around 9:30 on a Wednesday and it was not crowded at all. I have seen negative reviews about the wait time and the attention of the staff. I can't help but think when you go at a busy time you have to be patient.
The staff was very attentive and helpful with our menu selections. The food was AMAZING and the coffee was so good!
I love the concept of local farm to table and the decor and atmosphere were great! We will be back for sure!!
Love love love this place! I love that they have gluten free, vegan, and other options for those with different dietary needs. The food was absolutely delicious, very presentable, as well as nice and steamy hot. The servers were friendly, the atmosphere very pleasant. All around wins! I have gone a couple times now prior to writing this review and will definitely be back for more!!
I love the warmth and coziness of this place while also being bright and open. I came here for brunch with my partner and we were blown away at the presentation and how large the portions are. I had the grits bowl with a chicken sausage and it was so well seasoned! He had the chicken and waffles with spiced apple preserves. Definitely pay for the add-ons because it brought the dishes up to the next level. Great value for what you pay!
The vibes were great, Waitstaff was very friendly but not very attentive, our original waitress left halfway through our meal and didn't say anything to us. Even though it was very out of my comfort zone, food was good and drinks were okay. Definitely recommend the fruit fritters!
Commune felt like a rustic, magical Hobbit home that welcomed us with fresh takes on hearty breakfast dishes and beverages. The chai I had (with burnt honey) was like a warm hug, and the ham and jam biscuit was everything I wanted in life at the moment in which I tasted it. The staff displayed utmost hospitality as well. What a great local find!
Really nice small and chill spot. Service is fast and good. The spiked apple cider is good when you dip your fruit in it 🙃 would definitely come back.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious and very filling. I got the biscuit and gravy with a sausage patty on the side. It came with a yummy salad. Loved the dressing. It’s got to be homemade. Great service when I picked up my food. The dish was a bit pricey, but I really enjoyed the food.
A nice little spot with a cool atmosphere! Love the concept of locally sourced foods and ingredients (within 200 miles)! Only reason this isn’t a 5 star was the double stack burger was super dry. Even if it was “smash burger” style, the patties were medium-well at best. Might try again with a different food item.
I absolutely LOVE this place. Farm to table and it didn't disappoint! Our server Madison was vibrant and informative with every question we had about the menu. The housemade peach sorbet soda was refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. It's really hard to choose what to eat bc every item on the menu is tasty. So we ordered a smorgasbord of things like the Classic with homemade sausage as our choice of meat. The sourdough brioche bun was like no other I ever had in a good way. Almost flaky like a croissant and not overly sweet like a lot of brioche that I've eaten before. A housemade biscuit with homemade jam(blackberry and perfect),side salad with garlic vinaigrette that was perfectly dressed, and a side of crispy potatoes with their hollandaise sauce. We also recieved a complementary housemade blueberry muffin in honor of the art festival going on in the area. Even the muffins was nothing less than perfection 🥰
Dined here Sat morning, cornmeal waffles with chamomile butter is quite good, eggs Benedict were nice with the biscuit being the star, very lovely presentation of burnt honey latte and ginger soda. Parking is easy!
Also we ordered a blueberry muffin and our server forgot to bring it even though we asked a couple times. Normally not a big issue, but for the price of 8 bucks it’s not great. Outdoor dining area is not the best.
This was the best breakfast I've had in Virginia in years. They have so many options, and every single thing we ordered was delicious. Incredibly reasonably priced and service was top-notch! The cornmeal pancakes are like cornbread which was so unique, I wish they had a special syrup to go with it. The sourdough toast is perfection, and the bacon was delicious and such a generous portion. I can't wait to go back. This place is the best!
If you're in the area, I highly recommend going soon to catch their seasonal peanut butter latte because that thing was FANTASTIC!
