This was my second time here. We came to watch the Copa America game between Colombia and Argentina. On Saturday's for the specials they have the 2 for 5$ margaritas and 1.50$ tacos (carbs asada and pollo). I would come here again to enjoy the place. It's nice to come with friends and just have a good conversation while taking advantage of the specials.
Huge portions good service, and affordable prices. The molcajete was the bomb.
New fav, I will definitely be coming back. Walking through the door and just the atmosphere grabs you and pulls you in. The service was great! Smiles everywhere. The drinks are amazing to say the least. House margarita is the way to go but definitely don’t stop there! The food is delicious and the portions are rather generous! Lots of variety! I highly suggest stopping in and taking a peak at the menu. This place has so much potential.
I really didn't want to like this place after Dubliner closed (RIP), but I was wrong! Super delicious food and yummy not-too-sweet not-too-sour margaritas. Wish they had a more diverse beer menu so we could hold happy hours there, but I'll definitely be back. 😋
Edit: Don't bother trying to get food on a Friday night though. Crawling with undergrads and service is SO SO slow.
Today my work decided to get Americano Mexicano for lunch. Everything was fantastic! We got the tacos and enchiladas. Lemme tell you, those enchiladas were amazing! We'll definitely be back.
Had the super nachos with pulled pork from the appetizer menu and they were delicious, but definitely a lot of food so I recommend sharing. Also the strawberry raspados with cream was very good as well!

Americano Mexicano has many things going for it. First, it has a prime location in the Main Square at the University of Arizona. There are plenty of young students who are always ready for a cold drink and Mexican street food. Secondly, the food's flavor is authentic, or as the young ones say "legit", Mexican. How so? The refried beans rivaled and tasted like my late Abuela's beans. From a Mexican's perspective, it doesn't get better than that. The Sonoran Hot Dogs have a carne asada twist on top to separate themselves from the countless other restaurants and Sonoran hot dog trucks that litter Tucson. The chips and salsa are some of the best I've tasted in Tucson. Ask for the spicy salsa if you are a true fan of hot stuff and don't mind loosening your nasal passages. Finally, I hope this easily overlooked establishment does not go away too quickly because it truly has some of the best Mexican "fast food" with a sophisticated culinary twist to it in a town known for its Mexican food.
Taco Tuesday place to be ! 1 dollar tacos they are small but delicious the drinks are 2 dollars the music is jumping and the vibe is lit it’s right off university so it’s mostly college people but I would recommend and also ps the salsa is way too hot so be easy with it is my opinion
The host and bartenders are very friendly . The michelada was on Par with Bks, and they even let us revive the famous Harry Potter drink, I call it “Jarrito Potter”
Do you CHICHARRON? They make the bombest Chicharron taco. Its a must! Great food, Taco Tuesday is awesome. Nice attmosphere, go try it.
