Much like the beloved Boondocks, the Red Garter serves up hearty and tasty grub. Huge portions and a pastrami sandwich I'm sure I had once in a NY deli.
One night I was getting pretty toasty there and wanted food. The bartender handed me a menu and I've been a big fan ever since.

Great food. Fantastic service. In my opinion, just a little too dark inside. But we will be back. Delicious fried zucchini and mushrooms. Gonna try the Ruben sandwich next time. Wings were great.
It’s a seat yourself establishment! What’s not to love about choice? Fast service— waited 1 minute for my beverage and 9 mins for my burger. I’d recommend splitting a burger; it’s totally worth it. Burgers photographed: Scotty’s Blacked spice and blue cheese and classic bacon cheese burger.
Super cute lil bar & grill, old school atmosphere with the 70's wood paneling and lots of neon. I called ahead to ask if they're kid friendly and was told yes, but was a little thrown by the "out of order" condom dispenser in the womens bathroom that my 6 yr old asked about while washing her hands. 😬 Overall great though. The waitress was super cute and sweet and the fried pickles and pastrami were both super yummy. We will be back 😊💜
Stopped in for lunch late Saturday afternoon. Not to busy. Service was great. Seemed like the two servers in our area were helping each other. Nachos could use some work, melted shredded cheese. Burgers were great. I've eaten dinner here before and enjoyed it as well. Will be going back.
So good. Went there tonight with my work friends and the food was fire!!!! We all did appetizers to share.
The fried pickles were the winner of the night. But the jalapeno poppers, chicken strips, mozzarella sticks and Cajun fries were also soooo good.
Our waitress was nice and made sure we had our drinks are as we sat down. It was super busy so it took some time to get refills but all on all amazing.
Good times and a good atmosphere! We went here tonight for a few drinks and dinner with a co-worker. We sat outside, watched football, and enjoyed a nice evening. The menu was diverse and tasty. The beer list was good as well. In summary it was a nice, down-to-earth place to.hang out, eat, and talk !
We're so happy to find a good place that's close to home when there's a MNF game we want to watch and have some good food and drinks. First, Old Chicago was torn down and then Native was torn down. We were really bummed for a while until we decided to check this place out. IT'S PERFECT!!! The food, service, and atmosphere exceeded what we were looking for. Thank you Red Garter for being there all along and we're sorry we didn't discover you sooner! See you soon!
Solid bar food, nice atmosphere. Great place to catch up with old friends. Good pricing.
Stopped on way thru town on a travel break. Older local bar and grill from my view. Had the gargantuan burger, Reuben, and combo fried appetizer. Sandwiches were really good. Appetizer disappeared quick. A few TV's scattered plus a projection screen visible from eating side.

Wonderful to find this place in our neighborhood. Relocated permanently to Tucson in September 2021 - walked by here many times before visiting, from the outside I could take it or leave it - appears a bit 'dated' - DO NOT let that deter you from going inside....
Tried it in November 2021 - will be a repeat customer, likely every week. The menu is extensive which caused me some trepidation, when a place focuses on too many items, my experience is the food suffers (Think Cheesecake Factory) I had the fries (perfectly cooked), then the cheeseburger with onion rings (Again perfectly prepared) - 5 stars. Service from Kellie - 5 stars, bartenders super efficient, reasonably priced food / drinks. Four pool tables in the non smoking section, separated by four pool tables in the smoking section (glass divider). Place smells / looks really clean, bathrooms fully stocked and clean. My only criticism (jokingly) is the door to the outside squeaks by the pool tables - but I picked up a can of WD40 yesterday and will solve that issue next visit.
Look forward to my next visit, working my way through the French Dip and then the Rueben! Thanks Red Garter for creating a cool place in the Pala Verde neighborhood! See you soon.
