Not bad. We used to go to Maria's a lot before we found Cielito Lindo (which is our new Go-To Mexican). The food was USUALLY very good, but not always. Portions are pretty small, I guess they expect you to fill up on the chips/salsa and soda (The wait for the food was often bordering ridiculous). We almost never had the same server and rarely did we get a good one (I feel like they choose servers based on their body type not personality). We alway had to wait for a table no matter when we came in, but that's not a huge deal. But then they changed from Coke to Pepsi and that's unforgivable.
Lots of bad reviews, but I don't see how you can go wrong with the Sergio. I will admit, the portion size is smaller than it was 10 years ago, but way better than Mexican Villa.
Woah, so many haters on here! Maria's is one of my favorite spots in town: location, atmosphere, staff, and I haven't had a better margarita... ever. The food (which seems to be the big complaint) is decent, I mean, they're not authentic but they're leaps and bounds better than the ever-so-popular Mexican Villa. Try the Sergio or fried tacos with carnitas. Honestly, belly up to the bar, have Mike make you a Tradtional margarita, eat a taco and be glad you're not sipping on a pre-made margarita in a plastic mug that burns your throat while you inhale tex-mex and write thoughtless reviews on urbanspoon.
Best Mexican in Springfield. If anyone tries to tell you this isn't the best Mexican place in Springfield, then they're probably from here and eat Mexican Villa too much for their own good.
Gluten-free friendly...DEFINITELY!!!. Thank you for being the only positive food experience we had during our visit to Springfield. Your staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgable about gluten-free options on your menu. The food was delicious and even though I couldn't eat any tortilla chips with your salsa, the salsa was good enough to eat with a spoon! Yum!
Always good. Maybe not authentic mexican. Maybe better.
Fajitas. Maria's is my favorite place to get fajitas in Springfield. Their salsa is awesome, not spicy at all and plenty of cilantro. Their pinto beans are just that with a hint of chili seasoning, not that great in my opinion.
Ate here last night for the first time. I was told to try the fried tacos. I had the spicy pork fried tacos and I have to say they were worth it. Really enjoyed the meal and the wait staffs friendly service
Decent. Not great but decent
Margaritas. The classic margaritas are the best I've had in Springfield. Simple and delicious.
