Amazing fried chicken, crispy, a bit salty and flavorful!
The lady at the register was rude. She wasn't very patient and couldn't offer any suggestions on the meals. Other than that, the food was good!
All this media attention about how Ezell’s Famous Fried Chicken was named the America most life-changing fried chicken by Esquire magazine and the restaurant’s separation from Mr. Ezell Williams himself. I think it’s only fitting I compare the original Ezell’s and the new Heaven Sent fried chicken (started by Mr. Williams). First impressions of the place. From the menu, the tables, and the colors it looks almost exactly the same as Ezell’s. The quality and taste of the food on the other hand was a little different. I really love the rolls that comes with the dinner meal. They were sweet like Hawaiian rolls. BBQ Beans were pretty good but not spectacular. Mash potatoes and gravy I really did not like. The gravy had good flavor but the mash had this weird watery consistency. Like it comes from instant mix or something. As for the chicken I got the 2 piece white with spicy batter.
OMG FRIED CHICKEN. A++++++++++++++++ i go here all day every day
I didn't realize that fried chicken is a necessary component for a full, happy life. Seattle winters get you down, no sun for months, rain all day every day.
No longer. Now you can have the best damn fried chicken all day every day instead.
Get the chicken strips. And get them spicy.
So glad to have Ezell's in the neighborhood. They have the best fried chicken, delicious baked beans and friendly staff.
Awesome fried chicken! Great sides. And they even have Faygo soda from the Midwest. Try the grape.
Friendly staff, delicious food and definitely more tasty than the various “Ezells” locations around WA.
I came today right when they opened and was not disappointed with the service or food. My only issue is that there aren’t any locations closer to the south side of seattle but hope to see some in the future. 🙏🏽 the drive was worth it and I’ll be back. Thank you 😊
Okay I had to come back to this one. I initially visited this place because of the whole Oprah flying it over deal. I was hyped, but also super full from our trip, and the whole thing felt way too greasy. I ate a piece, called it over hyped but decided to pack it up for later. Best decision I made that day. I got home, and about 24 hours later I gave it another go. It was the most fulfilling bite of fried chicken I had in years! I think either I was just too full the first time or maybe reheating it brought something out... But damn good chicken. Will definitely go back the next time I visit.
This has always been one of our family's go to comfort foods and they never disappoint. The chicken is always delicious, affordable, and fast. However the takeout experience has got even better now that they use compostable packaging. 6/5, would recommend to everyone.
Great service, friendly staff. Easily the most authentic southern fried chicken I’ve had here in Seattle.
Potato salad and Mac n Cheese are killer too! Highly recommend
Great food - Staff was friendly. We got thighs, spicy and original. Corn and mashed potatoes. All was great especially those fluffy delicious rolls. Love!
Now I've been around since Ezell's first started in 83 82 the first one on 23rd and Jefferson I used to stay right on 22nd and Jefferson hands down as for right now Heaven Sent is the real ezelles the only difference is they can't use the name but the food tastes exactly the same as it did to me in 1982-83 84 Sony Etc because taste a little commercial in a bad way but Heaven Sent that's the spot
Have heard Ezell a lot for its reputation because of Oprah. However it tastes doesn't as good as I imagine. Then I saw the story about how did Heaven Sent divided from Ezell, so I decided to step by and try it! And Heaven Sent is what I expect, it's more crispy, more juicy and freash! After trying both Ezell and Heaven Sent, I can sure, Heaven Sent is better!
Every bit as good as Euzell’s! :) The one area where they are lacking is in seating. If take out is what you are after then you can’t go wrong. The chicken is crisp and juicy. The potatoes are real. Rolls are light and fluffy. Gravy reminds me of what kfc gravy was like in the 80s. Yum.
Still great chicken and sides. Had my fried gizzards as well
I mean, it's fried chicken. It's really good fried chicken, and the sides are pretty solid as well. Quick service and spicy and regular options.
