This place has been my local bar for years. Everything about Retro is amazing, the food, the drinks, and the vibe. Don't come here if you're looking for frilly or fancy drinks. Big shout out to all the staff, especially Cathy and Jeff! If you're lookin for a place to grab a beer and unwind, this is the place!
This is the most awesome place to just relax have a cocktail and unwind. Jeff, Bridgett and Kathy are so cool and serve you like no other bartender has no business. If you're in town come on by. They have a seat for you! I love this place! Always so accommodating and on point!
Great little bar in downtown Seattle. Food is phenomenal and the service is too. We were treated like we'd been coming in forever. Lots of regulars and family owned. Prices were great and no "service fees" attached to the tab
Nice "under the radar" local watering hole. Happy hour prices and a good selection of craft beer on tap. Food is available although I have never ordered it. This seems like more of a place to grab one after work. Friendly service.
One of the best burgers I’ve had. Fresh beef paired with fresh cut fries. Can’t beat it! Server was great, always kept the water full.
Absolutely LOVED this place! My seven-year-old was so excited about every bit of food she tried that she looked about ready to fall out of her chair! The decor is awesome and the service was fantastic. We plan to make this a must-do every time we visit Seattle!
Super fun bar with good drinks, good food, great service and an awesome atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
The food & cocktails were excellent, ambiance was great, and Morgana was super friendly and helpful.
Good beer, bottomless cokes for my 10 yr old who was pushing the envelope on our YES trip - SO much caffeine 🤣 tasty fries and burgers, nothing amazing food-wise, but the service was great amd the atmosphere was amazeballs. My son named the skeleton Jeff and said he was the coolest person he'd met so far 🤣 we brought the game Exploding Kittens with us and had the best time! They've got a few games on the shelf but bring your own and have a great time!
One of my favorite bars in downtown Seattle. A local joint that also serves food. The bar also has a pool table (with a tv in the pool room) and a tv by the bar if you want to watch a game. There are lots of cool vintage photos of pop culture icons adorning the walls and board games are available if you that is your something you like to do. A good place to have a drink and watch the game and have a good conversation with some of the locals and tourists that visit this restaurant and lounge (they seem to get a good mix of both).

DIVE BAR, but seriously in all the best ways. Low key place where the locals hang out, with friendly, chill staff, good drinks that are a good price and a solid kitchen.
A funny story, we were staying in Seattle last month before we went on a cruise. My father-in-law wanted to take us out to a nice dinner, fine dining, but the bistro he took us to was at a hotel and due to low staff, they were only serving people staying in the hotel that night.
He has diabetes and we need to find a place to eat pretty quickly so he could take his medication. I had read about the good burgers at Retro but didn’t know anything else about it. I suggested we go there because it was just a couple blocks away.
When we walked in the door, it was obvious that this was a VERY different ambience than what my father-in-law had been expecting, LOLOLOL.
Basic bar, plain wood tables, maroon walls with old rock posters, a skeleton in a Santa suit…you know, your usual dive bar motif.
At this point everyone was hungry so we decided to stay even though Papa looked a little nervous.
We had the best time! The servers were so nice, there was a cool local beer menu, our food was good - tasty burger, delicious meatloaf sandwich- and I really loved the two shots that I had - the Washington apple and the Rainier cherry!
There were people playing pool in a separate room, and they had table games out so we grabbed Jenga while we were waiting for our food. Turns out, it was naughty truth or dare Jenga and we laughed our heads off playing while we had our dinner. My teens thought it was great, and I can promise you we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere way more than we would have at some snooty hotel bistro. Once he got his food, even my father in law had a good time.
Thank you Retro for an unexpectedly memorable Seattle experience!
Based on the title “restaurant and lounge” I expected the place to be a little nicer. It’s definitely a bar lounge vs a restaurant lounge. Expect grungy, but not bad! Food was fresh and good. Menu isn’t huge and they only have 3 sodas but for what it was and cost it was quite good.
Four Star as they're delivering on the expected experience. Older Bar Lounge that has the older Bar Lounge feel, very friendly staff, food and drink we're ok and reasonably priced. Friendly patrons.
Best fries in the world? Maybe. The Waitress was so nice.
