If you had a picture in your mind of a typical neighborhood Irish pub then this is it. Most bars like this only take cash, but even though they still use one of those cool really old push button ding registers they actually have a card processor thingy too. The bartender if friendly and helpful when asking about nearby eateries. Now, about the bar tools who hold up the end of the bar to keep it from falling, well they are the part of what makes a local watering hole fun. The conversations and comical pokes n jabs as new old customers come n go is as much fun as watching your favorite late night show. Drop by have a drink and just listen, at some point maybe you'll have something to add and be able to get in on the fun. Best place in town to experience true Irish sunblock ;-)
Great atmosphere with generically great 90s and 00s music. Drinks are cheap and music totally isn't loud enough to make conversation strenuous until ~11pm on a Friday night. Also the Irish theme is validated by the tangible sense of community from many of the patrons, both with the bartenders and each other.
A very nice and friendly watering hole. The bartender was as cool as any SF local barkeep should be. Dog friendly and a warm atmosphere.

I lost my wallet with money in it. Next day, I called the bar and the owner told me that he has my wallet. I highly recommend this place!
The drinks are great! The bartender, Otto, is supercool. She is from England and has the best accent I've ever heard. Not to mention, she's a great listener. One of the best hidden gems in West Portal SF.
