This place is a real neighborhood gem.
I will always recommend it—the deli is the star of the show, but this market also has a wide variety of produce, baked goods, packaged goods… they have sodas and even some speciality drinks (e.g., aloe drinks) in the back. You can also get espresso and other coffees at the front of the market (right by the deli).
Most everything is quite decently priced, sandwiches at the deli are $10-13 depending on your fixin’s.
There are also a few small tables outside to eat at, so you don’t have to walk to eat.
The little sandwiches here are not bad. There's a wide selection of beer and wine as well as groceries. We like Arguello Super Market because it is conveniently located on the bike route we take from the Richmond to Golden Gate Park. I had their roast beef sandwich on Dutch crunch with Swiss $13.45 and a 19oz IPA $3.25. They have outside tables to enjoy the food. This is cool for cyclists because we like to keep an eye on our bicycles. Indoor dining means locking the bicycles up. Staff is fast and friendly.
Best sandwiches in San Francisco. Best market in SF. I lived around the corner for years. Will never forget the turkeys roasting on rotisserie. Best Dutch crunch rolls. When I worked for years at USF, always had to stop in
This market has everything, it’s small but mighty! New cool brands without pretentiousness. I love this market and it’s a total Neighborhood gem.
One of the greatest turkey sandwiches I've ever had. Highly recommend the avocado and cranberry spread on Dutch crunch bread.
Best place in the neighborhood to grab a sandwich and drink on the weekends the turkey is the way to go , and he has a great hummus that is out of the world everyone in there is very friendly and knowledgeable, and willing to help if you have any questions
Best roasted turkey sandwich-- just confirming a well- established fact. I order it on Dutch crunch with provolone and all the fixings. Love the SF potato salad too.
Got the turkey sandwich with everything on Dutch crunch after reading all the great reviews and I was disappointed. It was too dry. My friends who got it thought the same thing.
Still want to try it again, hoping it’ll be better.
I used to just stop here to grab a kombucha after a run but once grabbed a head of lettuce and found it to be really good quality...then I once grabbed some pita...and found that to be really good too....and I realized the variety and quality of things in this store to be better than a regular neighborhood store and while some things can be a tad pricey, I'd say it is about in line with other really good gourmet stores but they also have "normal" stuff at about the "normal" price. Super friendly staff and overall good vibe. I must try that turkey sandwich sometime....
Arguello Super is not known for its grocery store. Heck, I don't even go there for groceries. Super's "World Famous" turkey sandwiches are one of the tastiest things you will ever consume. The bread and ingredients are as fresh as can be. You can see the whole turkeys cooking behind the counter. The sandwich-making masters cut the turkey fresh just for you. They pack meat inside the sandwich until its literally overflowing with goodness. They have plenty of great condiments such as jalapenos and avocados. I always get a turkey sandwich on their amazing dutch crunch with everything. Their chicken salad is also incredible. Everyone must taste an Arguello Super sandwich before death.
