Came here for my wife's birthday. I had never been but I've always known about it. The pommes frites were wonderful, of course. I don't have a point of reference for the fois gras, but I found it enjoyable with the berry sauce that came with it. Other diners said it seemed more "processed" than other fois gras. The mussels were great. I had the poulet roti which was very tasty and I feel like I probably made the worst choice after sampling my friend's coq a vin and duck confirm, which were amazing. Not too much if a desert guy but my Apple tart was high quality. The server was responsive, quick with suggestions when asked but never pushy or pedantic. The atmosphere was grown up fun. Oh and my Sazerac made me sad I was designated driver and could only have one. This is a lot more than I've paid for dinner in quite a while but well worth it.
Although we waited even though we had a reservation my friend and I made the best of it. In the meantime we were served some sparkling kava wine to help us pass the time. Awesome waiter !! Tastiest French onion soup, mussels, and pate w/cheese platter !!! Delishus !! Oh and live band and singer was top notch !! Definitely going back to try the Coq Au Vin next time !!
Great spot to wine taste with friends & family. Chic and fresh decor. I have been to several events here: a going away party, an engagement, a dress rehearsal... and a surprise birthday. All great events. They have a cheese plate that is yummy but overall the appetizers and small plates are disappointing. Wine is the main attraction! The food is a plus if you've arrived famished. Miner Family Vineyards is a favorite. Difficult place to get to if you and your group are not city friendly. Look at a map twice and plan out parking before you go. If you take a taxi you're fine!
Delicious food but the wait time for the food to come out was insanely long. We came during a weekday and we thought we were lucky to get a table for 3 around 7PM, but the whole meal was about 1 1/2 hours to get all the food on the table. They did give us some bread in advance. However we were very tired by the time we finished our meal.
We ordered the roast duck, steak and cheese plate with honey comb. Everything was lovely, no complains on the food.
I’ll back again for another meal with my friends, hopefully the food wait time would be shorter.
Nice restaurant with outdoor seating and overlooking a major and very popular road. Looks like an Asian but you can also enjoy French delicacies here. It's good for individual and group relaxation as well. Given the ambience and services on offer the price can be rated as very affordable and inexpensive.
We were in downtown SF and picked this place for lunch because it was a sunny day and the restaurant had outside seating. We ended up not eating outside because it was too windy in the alley where the restaurant is located. We didn't regret eating inside because the interior felt comfortable and cozy. We were seated promptly even though the restaurant was almost full. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. I had the cold cuts plate (assiette de charcuteríe) and the trout with green beans (truite amandine) and both were very good. The kids had the roasted chicken and emptied their plates. Recommended, I would eat here again.
Great find for French dining in San Francisco. The escargot was prepared to perfection. The foie gras was perfectly balanced with a berry compote. The swordfish was an incredible fish cooked to perfection. Looking forward to my next visit.
Cafe Claude was wonderful. The staff was wonderful. The ambience was wonderful and eclectic. The food, ooo la la! The morrow bitter on a perfect steak, and so so tasty steak were amazing. We started with a drink " perfect something" and ended with a creme brulee and apple carmel tart. Wow. The parking is a challenge but so worth it. Fun to walk around the city too.
