I wanted to go to a tavern for a solo dinner, and I was not disappointed. Good crowd, good venue, and awesome energy. For food, I ordered the Infierno burger with tots and an order of fried pickle chips. The fried pickles and burger were mid at best, leaving the tots to be the star of the food items. That being said, I looked at the menu before going, so I knew what I was going to get. The service was top notch, and that goes a long way in a high energy joint. If you’re from out of town and looking for a fun, laid back place to go in the Gaslamp District, you shouldn’t be disappointed here. Also, the open air feel adds some fun to the mix. I would go again for sure.
Indoor outdoor seating, love the vibe here, we sat woth our backs to the road but our attwnti9n was always to the big screens and the interior environment.
This is a great place to go watch a game or just hang out. They are dog friendly. The bartenders are super friendly and they make delicious drinks. This is an Eagles bar but they always have multiple games playing on game day. If you tell them what game you are interested in, they will do their very best to make sure you can see the game from your seat. (not guaranteed but they do try 😊)
They have brunch specials and a separate dinner menu. The food is delicious, especially the crispy potatoes. Yummy!
Fantastic food mid-day on a Sunday. High quality, flavorful, and filling. Service was excellent; really attentive and quick. Perfect place to watch football with the NFL Sunday ticket and many TVs. Coffee was nice and strong too.
Everybody needs to be aware that this place is on the bottom floor of the building. There are stairs to the Quad Alehouse towards the entrance of the building.
Ultimately, this place had a great atmosphere with great food and service. My girlfriend and I went here and shared fries topped with pork, cheese, gravy, and other toppings. I had a burger as well and it was very good. At the time there was a Star Trek 30th anniversary beer that we both had and it was delicious. This is a good place that I would recommend to others.
This place had a pretty chill vibe going on when o went. What was completely unexpected was how great the food was. It’s next level bar food — the pizza tots will change your life!! Sorry I had half eaten them before I thought to capture them…lol
Brisket sandwiche was excellent. The venue was also the perfect spot to watch the game. The crowd inside was lively and the bartenders kept everyone's glasses full. Great time and great food. They smoke their own meat on location.
Walked pass this establishment many a times downtown and never stopped in. Today was the day and I enjoyed it. Bartender Patrick was great and it wasn't to busy during this time. I was able to enjoy food and beers during this time in a quiet setting. The margherita pizza I ordered was light and tasteful plus the mango cart's we're perfect combo. Just fyi, they also have $5 special beer (daily I believe).
Wings were great, very crispy and lightly sauced. Ordered the Tavern sauce which is a mix of bbq and Buffalo sauce. Chorizo papas bravas very good. All the food came out hot and there were no leftovers. The pretzel is also very good. It’s a large portion so enough for two to share. Good service!
Pub outing #3 on my tour of pubs in San Diego. Gaslamp Tavern is located in, you guessed it, the gaslamp district. I'll admit I ordered something pretty ordinary, although the regulars were praising the chicken tenders which looked really good. I went the healthy route and had a chicken salad which was good and filling. This pub is not British or Irish themed as the others but have a great people-watching view from the bar (see pictures), and the atmosphere is welcoming.
