I found my new go to place for Greek food. Great food with large portions at a very reasonable price. It's a mom and pop type shop where the owners are running the show. Parking in the area can be a little challenging but well worth it. I will definitely be coming back here.
Best Greek place in town! I've been going to Alexi's for about 5 years now. The portions are huge and the prices are extremely reasonable. Owner and staff are very friendly and hard working. Fast service too. The gyros plate is my go-to, and I usually have leftovers because of how much food you get!
This is a 1 to 2 man show restaurant. He is the cashier, cook, server, bus boy and greeter. And he never misses a beat. He runs the establishment literally solo.
Food is prepared hot and served on colorful floral plates, like at home. We ate a gyro and falafel wrap. Lunch portion size is considered large and could be shared. Inexpensive. Quick eats.
Off street metered parking. Small indoor eating area and uneventful set-up. Like a beginners sit in restaurant. You have a place to sit and eat but not to hang out. All forms of payment accepted. Refills are no cost. No all you can eat option. After you eat, have a nice walk in Hillcrest.
great family owned. prices are reasonable and quality is excellent. I had gyro plate only $10 soup salad rice and gyro. I had to box it to take rest home. very good
Hidden gem located in Hillcrest. My family and I been coming here for years. The only Greek place with the largest portion of food I’ve come across. The owner is awesome, he memorizes every customers order without having to write it down that’s a plus in my book. Anyhow excellent service and food you want be disappointed be sure to try the lunch special Gyro sandwich with fries, salad and a drink under $10. You can’t beat it. This is a great spot for lunch, dinner dates or family in town.
This place is a time capsule in all the best ways. Hope nothing about it ever changes. Food, service, and atmosphere are unmatched. This place is now legendary in SD
Best meal we had in SoCal. The gyro was perfect and the falafel weee just right. Wonderful, fast, attentive service. Would recommend and visit again.
everyone isn't kidding you can get a plate full of food for only $10-11 including soup & a greek salad on the side! excellent vegetarian options. they get 5 stars for value alone!
Alexis Greek has been on my list for years. I was having chocolate macadamia nut coffee at Chocolat across the street in Hillcrest and noticed the sign again for Alexis Greek. I've passed by it for years thinking to myself that I needed to go there sometimes but never did until now. I like spanakoptia and dolmas, which regular readers already know. They didn't have a combo with the two so after telling the owner what I wanted to try at his establishment he made it ala carte for me with a greek salad. It was more than I could eat but the salad was good, cold and fresh. The restaurant is small, with blue booths and a lot of older pictures of Greece along one wall. Good food!

Hidden gem of Hillcrest.
From the outside it looks like a small hole in the wall location nestled between several top spot restaurants. The experience is a friendly helpful staff that goes the extra mile to ensure you have a great meal and dinner experience.
This has a feel similar to SD taco shops but with Greek food. The food was excellent, prices were amazing especially for Hillcrest, and the feel is honestly family table. I could go here daily with out question.
