**********FAMILY RESTRAUNT ************* 1ST TIME Visit. I was happily surprised to find Owners working Restraunt. Other Family members also working there. I know where I grew up, if you actually find a Family owned and RUN restaurant, it was worth going to. I enjoyed the decorations and atmosphere. I was respectful and patient and was not disappointed. I had Chorizo con huevo, Barbacoa tacos, and my wife had a Migas plate it was Amazjngly delicious. Small staff, so be patient and enjoy the food. I saw more than 1 customer come in, and they were greeted as if they knew each other. It's a family atmosphere. I love that the Flour and Corn tortillas are homemade. I also purchased Calabacita with pollo, and it was Amazing. The Staff is very kind and friendly and of course very busy. The restaurant is small and cozy yet can hold large families if needed. The restaurant is Open till 2:30 pm but all the Great restaurants close early. (FAMILY TIME) This place is a hidden GEM. When I was there, I saw the owners working hard and greeting everyone kindly. There are so many different Menu items for those Authentic Mexican food customers......Fideo, chicharron, barbacoa, Albondiga with Chipotle, Calabacita with pollo to name a few and of course all your Favorite regular Mexican plates. I loved the Food . I plan to be a regular. They also have 3 different types of hot and flavorful sauces for every taste. Restaurant located in a small shopping center and has a Large parking lot, for what it's worth. Exceptional Mexican cuisine! The clutch was homemade flour and corn tortillas. The restaurant was very clean and decor was definitely uplifting 👌

Great food!! Great Staff!! Excellent service!! Update! The food at Abuela's is consistently good. Always a great selection of daily lunch specials. A family owned Mexican restaurant with very friendly attentive servers. Amazing overall staff that greet customers with a big smile. My favorite here is the Menudo, Country Guisado Tacos, 911 Special, Chile Relleno, Enchiladas Mexicanas and Huevo Rancheros.

First visit... Lively atmosphere, friendly customer service, & obviously frequented by a lot of regular clientele. Menudo to go was delicious. If you pick up the large, consider asking for extra condiments & tortillas if not already provided.

BEST STUFFED CHURROS IN TOWN. And definitely one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in all of San Antonio. Family owned with very friendly bilingual service.
