Jack-Mormon Coffee stands out from all the rest on too many levels to detail in one brief review. I do not know of any other coffee shop where you can buy freshly roasted bags of coffee (that are still warm) and/or be served by individuals so gracious and well-versed on the coffees that they sell! This is a must go place if you live in and/or are visiting Salt Lake City - and a favorite stop for the purchase of "gifts" for out-of-state family and friends!
It is very likely that you'll have to park in front of houses when you come here. It's pretty busy, but they get you in and out pretty quickly. I was ready to order my usual coffee choice (Black Iced Coffee) when something on the menu caught my eye: Cold Brew On Nitro. After inquiring with the friendly staff, I learned that the primary difference is that they make it frothy at the top, so when you drink it, it is very similar to drinking a Guiness. Pretty legit, I must say...
I've only had the iced coffee and the Nitro here and it's been some of the best I've ever had. I usually use 2 sugars in my coffee, but the coffee here is delicious and doesn't need much at all. Great service and a nice place to stop when the weather is hot. It's in a residential area so it's a bit of a walk even living in the area.
Honestly the BEST coffee in SLC. The coffee is as fresh as it gets, roasting their own beans all day long. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable (if you have a craving for a certain coffee they cab point you in the right direction). The downside (and I believe they did this on purpose) is the hours and the small space. This isn't a place to hang out for hours on end (only two tables and a few chairs), and the hours of operation are from 8 to 5:30. The odd thing is that it's called Jack Mormon but they aren't open on Sundays! I asked them an it's because it's a family company and they want time to do stuff too, can't fault them for that...ease try Jack Mormon, you won't regret it.
Best Coffee Ever. Yeah, that's a bold statement, but truly this is the best-tasting coffee I've ever had. Rich, complex, not bitter... I love that the beans are roasted and ground just before brewing. I respect that the owners clearly love what they do. Starbucks might as well be purveying Taster's Choice. Don't get bent out of shape because of the name - SLC, you're lucky to have such a gem in your city.
Jack mormom. Best coffee in slc. The owner worked on a coffee plantation for over a decade, and they roast all coffee beans the same day they serve them. They sacrifice speed of service for quality, but it is worth it every time.
They serve some good brew. So is it made by or for jack Mormons? I forget to ask. Silly name. Utah coffee drinkers are so damn oppressed and have to vent somehow, grrrr. I feel your pain. Anyways, a Jack Frost on a cold day can't be beat. Just not on the Sabbath.
I'd only be offended if they served poor coffee. Great coffee, and this is because of baristas that care.
I only get offended by poorly made coffee, and there's none taken here.
Love it. It's a great place! Um and if you are offended by names... you may want to stay in a hole because people do it all oer the world.
Good coffee, skillful baristas. As I watched the baristas preparing our drinks I was already sure I would enjoy it. They roast their beans in small batches on site, providing a fresh and flavorful espresso. Milk was steamed perfectly, and served at just the right temperature.
A coffee shop that roasts their own beans is always a win in my book. Awesome coffee & amazing customer service. There is only a small bar table with 5 seats inside the building, so it’s more of a grab and go coffee shop. Parking is also limited to about 6 cars in front of their building, it was a little inconvenient to have to pay for parking across the street so I could go grab a coffee. Other than that no complaints what so ever!
A unique & vibrant neighborhood haunt. Jack Mormon serves bold brews and boasts a lively, local atmosphere.
The roasts are strong and tasty, the baristas are kind and knowledgeable.
Such a cool vibe here! I always make a point to try local coffee options before resorting to any sort of chain option.
These guys make some damn fine coffee. The nitro was perfectly balanced, smooth, and had an amazing flavor profile.
I will definitely be back!
Jack Mormon Coffee is Awesome! I have heard of this place and drove past it many times but never got around to getting some coffee. I finally got around to stopping in and I wish I would have came in sooner. This is a little shop but has way more to offer. Roasting, daily roast, and merch for days. This place has everything. Defiantly one of Utah’s most tasty cups of coffee. I will be coming back here for sure!
When ever we travel to SLC from Boise we always make the effort to come grab a coffee. Today we enjoy an iced coffee and banana bread. Both were incredible! Super tasty and awesome service! Plus-LOVE the name!
Cute little location for coffee. Employee was friendly and our coffees were delicious! There is a great selection of coffee grounds that can be bought both for yourself and for a gift.
Get your fresh roasted on in the Avenues.
This quaint little coffee shop is the talk of the town. I stopped in to see what it was all about.
The shop looks large from the outside but has little room to maneuver inside with all that's going on. Jack Mormon has coffee roasters out in front toasting up some delicious beans, the bar for drink orders, a small nitro cold brew beverage dispenser in the back and a whole wall of coffee SWAG for sale.
The dining area was quite small and does not accommodate very many patrons, but it was clean and inviting. The baristas are kind and helpful and know their stuff. Jack Mormon, along with roasting their own beans, also makes their own coffee concentrate, chocolate syrup and chai concentrate. They know how to throw down and whip up a delicious beverage!
The only downfall, they do not have a public restroom here.
Our group ordered a ga ma cha green tea and hot chocolate. We also couldn't help ourselves and walked out with an air tight coffee canister, a bag of fresh roasted beans and a small bottle of chai concentrate!
If you are from out of the area, like me, and are jonesing for their coffee, you can order beans and SWAG from their website.
The perfect espresso bean for you to take home and use on your machine. Been picking up and ordering online for years now. Consistently one of the best in SLC!
A cute little coffee place that has a perfect name! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. A great place to come with a friend or grab a coffee and go. This is a place you want to go to if you want to buy roasted beans, quick coffee and buy a great gift.
This isn't a place you want to order a coffee and work in. The reason for that is that they have no Wi-Fi and no restroom for the customers. I think if they could change these two things it would be a lot better.
First time to enjoy coffee provided by Jack Mormon Coffee Roasting. I arrived after open and also after close. Although the door being locked I was greeted and informed of the hours of operation. I am very satisfied with the quality of service to compromise with the information not posted of my notice. Thank
