This restaurant is so nice. Lots of vegan options! And a beer and wine list. It’s spacious, perfect for large gatherings but cozy enough for a solo dinner. The portions are large and the price is affordable.
Despite another local guide who was very prejudice in their review, borderline racist, I think the service was fine.
I dined alone early on a Thursday (6pm) and loved the calm atmosphere with its calming music.
Their vegetable pakora (vegetarian) has got to be one of the best I’ve had with its mild flavor and dipping sauces. It does not fall apart and it’s very satisfying. It comes with 6 and I ate two for an appetizer even though one would have been enough. But they were so good haha. I actually enjoy next day pakora so I am happy to take the left overs.
I ordered Aloo Saag (vegan) for the main course and it was also very good with potatoes not cut too large. I ate it with Roti and rice which the rice was very fluffy and sweet. Super delicious.
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. I wish the server had told us that the two dishes we ordered were going to taste almost the same. Other than that, very tasty.
First time at Gurkhas. We came in on a slow evening. The ambience is nice, and the decorations look good. The service is fast, and the staff is friendly.
However, the service was so fast, that our appetizers and meal came at the same time. The appetizers were still cooling, and we're quite greasy. While we waited for this to cool off, unfortunately, our Currys cooled as well.
The curry was very watery for both dishes. It left something to be desired.
All that said, we may have just come at the wrong time. The menu had plenty of options, and interesting dishes. We will return to try it again in hopes of a slightly better experience.
Great lunch buffet, excellent selection and taste. Staff were attentive and friendly. Prices were reasonable, kids under 5 eat free. Will definitely go again.
My 💯 honest review for this restaurant. Food, ambience,hospitality, presentation everything is really amazing. We came here and ordered a whole bunch if Nepali food we were surprised. Authentic food and Deepak who is owner was really nice and great.
Will recommend 💯 for the typical and authentic Nepali indian food in the town. 🙏
Beautiful restaurant, the food was incredible and the display was also incredible. Very nice restaurant in salt lake city. Only complaint was the waiting tine took longer than expected but otherwise it was absolutely perfect
This is my new favorite Indian lunch buffet! Great price and food. Am so pleased to find it. The vegetable Coconut Korma was excellent! Many vegetarian dishes. They even include a lassi drink, mango juice & hot chai tea beverages in the buffet price. Really good service and caring people here. Nice atmosphere. I took 1 star off the food as the Kheer was kind of bland and seemed to be missing some of its usual spice flavors, but everything else was above par. Will definitely be back again.
great spot mango lassi and butter chicken were delicious we got takeout from here. Staff was super nice and understanding. Only complaint was the naan since we felt it wasn’t that fresh and was kind of hard. Other than that it was good and portions were reasonable.
We tried Gurkhas and will definitely be back! You can either dine in or take out (we did the take out). We called the order in and I left immediately and didn't have to wait long at the restaurant for the order to be ready. The food was fresh, warm, and very good. My wife (who is well-versed with Indian food) says this is some of the best Indian she has had. She also likes spice with her food and said this spice was really good and made her sweat a little. Since this was our first time, we went mild with everything and had them add the stuff with a kick on the side. This worked well because we have two young girls. They both absolutely LOVED the chicken and naan. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and will definitely be back.
Fantastic food great flavor and just the right amount of heat! The indoor also has gotten a great vibe with the display of different Nepalese cultural heritage. They have gotten one of the best Nepalese cuisines in the town. Must visit place!
Also have great selections for vegetarians.
