This is such a tasty place to eat, if you are vegan or not. First time I went with a bunch of friends, we each ordered something different to taste most of the menu we could. Every dish was a delight. Yum!!
So perfect- I decided to have my wedding reception dinner there. ZERO REGRETS. Food is beyond amazing, nachos are to die for, buffalo cauliflower is beyond words, all of their beverages are on point. One of the owners, Roxy, was absolutely amazing in helping me plan my dinner and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined! There was not a single person that we invited who was vegan- and they all were very skeptical at first (and idc because vegan and bride so ���) but let me tell you- every person could not believe how amazing the food was and loved it! This place turned skeptical “meat and potato” family members into some vegan nacho lovers. I just adore this place, and love that every time I go back with my husband we will remember our perfect night there! � Thank you Boltcutter!!
Went in after lunch time on a Saturday. Zero wait. Restaurant was clean and in a good area of downtown SLC. Staff was nice and friendly. We were riding bikes and it was hot so we were very thirsty and the waitress did a good job making sure we always had water. Food was SO good. Guacamole and salsa was to die for and the Cali burrito was heaven on earth. The hot sauce they gave us I could have drank. I would definitely go back. My only complaint was they don’t give you that much guacamole.
WOW. Being from Arizona, we're always hesitant to try out-of-state mexican food.. Boy are we glad we gave Boltcutter a chance! Vegans and non-vegans alike should give this incredible space a try. First, the food was incredible (otherwise I wouldn't be giving a good rating). We started with chips, guac, and salsa (my one complaint is the salsa is VERY mild.. The hot sauce they have in bottles helps with that!). For the entree, we decided to split a burrito (thank god, it was HUGE and very filling). The Sin Carne Burrito was divine. You successfully satiated two grown men from the Southwest, congratulations!

Love this place. One thing about vegan food is that they know flavor is key and BOLTCUTTER knows how to season!
The menu is small, which is great. I personally hate looking through pages of food, wondering what is actually good and what is just filler. You know on this size of a menu everything is well crafted and specially picked.
The decor is a bit boring inside. Little on the walls, but an abundance of live foliage adds a lot. Our server was on top of things, even if his eye contact was a bit much. He did a wonderful job.
First we started with the buffalo cauliflower. Delicious and interesting with some heat. The chimmichuri added so much, but a better “ranch” dip is needed. Then I got the tostadas and my parter got the burrito. Both were exceptional! The tostada was beautiful to look at and had such a well designed flavor profile. I want to eat it again!
All around a wonderful place with wonderful food by any standard, not just “good food considering it’s vegan” it’s just plain outstanding food.

I was looking for late night food as I was heading back to a friend's place that I was crashing with and Boltcutter came up. They seem very newly opened because I could find little info online, but gave them a go. The decor is super nice and bright. The staff were super friendly and inviting. I got Buffalo habanero cauliflower wings and tempeh Baja tacos. Everything was ok, but nothing was distinctive; the cauliflower in particular was weird because it said habanero, but I did not get much heat. Maybe my palate has been affected by eating spicy food for so long, but I was hoping for more. The tacos were not bad, nothing special. On my next visit I would love to see what they do after finding their voice.
I completely love Bolt Cutter! It is by far my favorite vegan restaurant! I've taken many Mexican friends that are not vegan and they cannot believe how authentic in flavor and look and how delicious everything is. They for sure leave with their minds blown. The horchata is delicious. I love love the tacos but everything else is extremely delicious!
I ordered the quesadillas. Ask for the hot sauce - delicious. Restaurant is all vegan and an ice cream store next door that is all vegan too. Had rocky road ice cream after a long time!

The Buffalo Cauli and the Jackfruit Tostadas are to die for! (Except nobody had to die bc everything is vegan!) The staff are all super friendly. Thank you to Lexi for taking such great care of me! I can’t wait for my next trip to Salt Lake City so I can dine here again!
I'm so happy that I live close enough to BoltCutter to go there whenever I want! Such a great addition to Salt Lake's amazing restaurant line up! The Buffalo Cauliflower is the best you'll find anywhere!
