Honestly this place blew me away! The moment I walked in the door I knew that this was somewhere that I HAD to eat! Not to mention we snagged some awesome seating as well! This place was great in every way from the presentation, to the staff. I can't wait for my next trip to Salt Lake , because this place will definitely be on my list of must eats every time I'm in town from here on out!
My mom used to take me here all the time as a kid. We would sit at the sushi bar and the chefs thought it was funny to feed me random things because I'd eat it all. Fried giant shrimp, octopus, you name it. I came in the other night and it was better than I remember. Our waitress Janice was fantastic as well. Also, this place has the best mussel shooters I've ever had! Can't wait to come back

I’ve been here several times over the years and was pleased with the most recent visit. Glad to see they are consistent with their offerings and service. The food was super delicious and the service was very accommodating. I am also happy to see that this place has sustained itself all these years even through pandemic and everything else occurring. It’s a testament to its value and importance. I highly recommend.
Over the past year I've eaten at Kyoto well over a dozen times; it's my favorite sushi place in Salt Lake City and I've tried a few. The fish here is amazing. Sushi chefs Marlene and Peggy are especially friendly, while being experts at their craft. Complementing the excellent sushi is a huge menu of non-sushi items, and good options for sake, beer and wine. Often somewhat crowded.
This is our second visit to kyoto restaurant, and the last one was 3 years back, but we wanted to go back here with a bigger group. We went with family and requested to be seated in their family room . The seating is very cool japanese style and the food was incredible. I was very impressed with the quality of food and the service. The server was very nice and friendly. He got us all separate bowls with dipping sauce and foe the rice as well. He was extra attentive he saw our toddler sucking on some lemon wedge, and he got more for us. That was super nice. And we all enjoyed our food thoroughly. Their teriyaki skewers were warm and amazing, tempura was crispy, rolls were delicious, and the house soy sauce was yum. Very good food service and ambiance . Good quantity of food and very affordable. I highly recommend this place.
Really good overall. The rice that our nigiri was made from was dry enough that it broke apart when trying to eat it. That was the only issue we had with the food. Still very enjoyable.
Absolutely amazing! It's really a step above restaurants in Utah. Make sure you set a reservation, parking is limited. The 'booth' we sat in was very japanese style, with options to not kneel. The atmosphere was great, I have not been to Japan, but it's probably the closest thing Utah will get. Our server was dressed in a kimono, not all were, but I appreciated it.
First time dining here and I will happily return again. The food was delicious and tasted fresh. The portions of the sushi were perfect and very filling. The waitress was very polite and prompt. The restaurant itself was very clean did not feel crowded. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Ok, they are a busy restaurant and suggest reservations. But they still were quite accommodating! Food... Only compliments and kudos for the quality and preparation of the rolls! Service was great, friendly and and top of dishes and drinks. Definitely coming back!
Was a wonderful experience with great food for a good price. The sashimi was fantastic and a large selection of different fish. The steak was super tender and good as well as the salad and soup. I did not find anything I did not like. If you want value the dinner combination is great amount of food for a great price about $24
Highly recommend here for a fun night out but you might need a reservation on most nights
Sat at the sushi bar and had a great meal service was good and fast from the chef’s. Had 16 piece sashimi and a excellent Lobster roll. Very well done by the chef. The dry sake was pricey for the quantity 24- for two small glass cups.
High quality, fresh sushi, easily one of the best spots for it in salt lake. Our server was super friendly and I appreciate the effort they put into creating a good ambiance, it’s noticeable.
