Great BBQ joint where you wouldn’t expect one. Nothing fancy and it doesn’t need to be. Ordered the three meat plate. All three meats (pulled pork, brisket, and ribs) had great Smokey flavor. The brisket and pork fell apart.
They have 8 craft beers on tap with a wide selection. Not just all IPAs. I had the lager and it was good, which is perfect for me as I hate IPAs.
Will return again when I am back in Salinas.
Food was excellent, service was friendly, the mixed berry cobbler dessert was to die for...definitely recommend...parking is not great though...
I had a great meal with friends for their birthday party. There's a great selection of meats and craft beers on tap. The desserts were tasty and the family size options for group meals were also fairly priced. I'd recommend enjoying the outdoor seating, weather permitting, and the root beer floats on a hot day.
The brisket is worth the visit - very tender and perfectly seasoned. The family also enjoyed the ribs. Maybe not quite as much value for the pulled pork and tri-tip, but if you're looking for a good barbecue place this is definitely a great place to visit. For those who are vegetarian, the Berry Bleu Salad is excellent. I would stop here just for the salad, even if you were not interested in the meats. Great proportion on the salad, and very well balanced.
This review is from my VERY picky 11yr old! We had the tri-tip, ribs and pulled pork. The meats were all tender and exquisite taste. We also had the Mac and cheese, baked potatoes and garlic bread. The potatoes were well cooked the garlic bread was perfect but the mac and cheese was not so good and kinda cold. In general this place has amazing staff and food! Thanks for the fantastic lunch and making my son happy!
Amazing beer selection. It seems like the boss's son has a brewery and really knows shiz about it!
About the food: the mac was good, the beans tasted like dried chili seasoning, the tri-tips were tender, the spicy sauce was good and tangy, the St-Louis ribs were, the first time, undercooked, chewy and not dry rubbed enough or long enough. I had to come back and the manager was kind enough to switch them for the part with the gristles, which were better, but I wouldn't call the pit guy a master...
I will be back for the beer selection.
