Great place. Could use some additional external signage to indicate the really terrific restaurant inside. Staff is young and seems a little new at the job but everyone who helped us was eager to find answers to our weird questions and always looked to keep us happy. The food was surprising and very good, especially the charcuterie plate and the grits entree, which blew us all away. Adding delicious cocktails all around, I'd rate this a real winner.

A very nice place for some good Alcohol. The food is also very delicious. I loved the Ambiance and they also have Patio seating. The staff are very nice and gentle. It is located in a very nice place right on University Avenue off of 280. The only suggestion would be to please add some more vegetarian options. The menu is short and nice, but please try to accommodate options for people with various lifestyles. The place is definitely on the pricey side. Overall a nice place for friends and dates.

It’s not every day that you find a cocktail bar like Hodges Bend. This place is refined and classy, but also super friendly and relaxed. Oh, and the drinks are great. I had a delayed flight leaving Minneapolis, and needed to find someplace near the university to grab a bite and a drink after a really long work day. It was also blazing hot outside. As soon as I entered I was offered a glass of water at my table. After wrapping up some lingering work tasks, I ordered a Prosperity and a Tobacco Old Fashioned. Both were very well-made. I finished the Prosperity too fast, but I managed to get a photo of the Old Fashioned - the little pink skull was interesting haha. After my drinks I got the watermelon salad and a burger, also pictured. Both were great. After a long work day, Hodges was a great place to unwind. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Hodges Bend is one of the most reliable cocktail bars in the Twin Cities. They have an inventive and varied menu of classic and original cocktails and the service is always friendly. The ambiance is swanky enough for a date night, but still retains a “neighborhood bar” feel. I’d highly recommend their Irish coffee or the on-tap Spanish style vermouth served with an orange slice and olives. The food at Hodges Bend is also excellent. Their fries are crisp and well seasoned, and the burger is juicy and tender. The summer salad was fresh and flavorful, and was tossed with a sweet onion dressing that’s made in house. The chicken was juicy and tender and was served alongside umami rich mushrooms and a rich, unctuous chicken jous. Make a reservation to sit in one of the cozy booth tables, relax in their outdoor patio, or sit at the bar (my personal preference) and strike up a conversation with one of their many talented and knowledgeable bartenders.

We had the best experience here. The staff was super kind, the drinks were great and reasonably priced, and the food was awesome. The whipped pimento cheese was so good, we ordered it twice!

Why have I not heard of this place before?! We were looking to stop in someplace for coffee before going to dinner on Saturday night and this popped up on our Google Maps. This is much more than coffee shop! First, great atmosphere and incredibly nice staff. Second, they have a full bar and artisan mixed drinks. Third, they have a decent menu and really good food. We ended up ordering an appetizer (which was great), but I saw mouthwatering-looking food at nearby tables. The deviled eggs...soooo good! We also ordered coffee and a couple of mixed drinks (mule and coffee martini). Both were excellent and the coffee super smooth. We will definitely be back for dinner. Parking: on street, but we had no trouble. The green line light rail also has a stop right across the street.

I highly recommend checking out Hodges Bend, particularly for brunch. The breakfast burrito was great and the Japanese Cold Brew was probably the best cold brew I’ve had. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy and did think it needed a bit more salt. That would be the one fault we encountered. I hope to return for some of their creative sounding cocktails.

This is a lovely, cozy and hip spot. Perfect place to grab a drink with friends. The decor was cool, well thought out, & the menu was impressive. Photo included of their proper table lined with wine racks, but not the cool yellow booths where we actually sat. Lots of coffee drinks & cocktails. Was a bit pricey for food and true alcoholic drinks and the staff seemed a bit out of their element, but did take quite good care of us.
