This Pappy's is better than the Midway one, for sure. Decent italian dipped beef with peppers. Decent chicken/fries. All deep fried/food coma eats here. 5.5/10, in a good, feel-like-a-fat kinda way.
When you just have to. Listen, for some of the people I bring here the atmosphere and clientele are a bit alarming. Almost everyone absolutely loves the philly or vienna beef that I recommend. Pappys is not for everyone. But if you want to escape you sad suburban existence and see what life is... Check out Pappys on a Friday evening I'm the summertime around the first of the month.
I love when my wife let's me take her here for our anniversary dinner. Less than $20, food is almost always good as long as you're in the mood for it. And there is a chance you will see some crazy shi7.
Twin Cities Best!. I regularly eat at the Maryland ave. location, but the Broadway and Washington has become a favorite too!
I recommend the Philly/Gyro Mix. It is a GREAT sandwich.if you order the 12", you had better bring a friend because it's FUGE! The 6 inch is more than enough, and piled high. Get extra sauce. The fries always taste like they were just made for me and the staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. I also love the wings. The fish is good to, and the salads and desserts are always fresh. If something is not to your liking, give them a chance to correct it because they want you to be happy. And come back. This place never disappoints me. By the way,I just had gyros at the "Gyro specialists on Snelling" (name withheld), and Pappys beats them hands down!
Office Manager. I go to the midway location all of the time. Love the gyros and chicken wings, and okra. that location doesn't have any more Club cards. I need a card with 2 punches gone off it. Can you send me one. And as a return customer I should not have to pay for hot sause for wings. When I come in there I always drop 20-25.00 every time.
Greasy and great! Love the gryos!
Deliciously Greasy!. I have eaten at Pappy's quite a few times-mostly when they first opened many years ago.
If your on a diet (you probably should be) I would not recommend eating here, but if not, then you will enjoy the greasy goodness.
The service is really good here, and the food is above average. I have gotten the Philly Cheese steak many times in the past and it has always been really, really good.
Once time a buddy ordered Mozzarella Sticks and they were imperceptibly overcooked. But the manager somehow spotted the non error and insisted on a fresh batch and brought another full order out after we finished the first one.
We couldn't eat it all, but it was a very generous and a memorable act of good service, which is a good reason in itself to visit.
Food for sharing. We love the Gyros! Get a platter to share among 3 or 4 people. The desserts are fun, the prices are good and the staff is friendly.
