Spent my birthday here yesterday and I give this place 2 thumbs up. Friendly staff, tons to do and I got to relive my childhood for hours with my best friends. I will be back!!!
Good drinks, the staff was pretty friendly, I haven't tried the food yet though. When I was there DJs are playing great music and they have an outside park with beer pong in San bag toss.
The $20 endless mimosas are a deal that can’t be beat honestly. The fact that you can walk down the road to other bars with the same owner and get different drinks is so awesome! The atmosphere is great, bartenders are friendly and it’s a place to be silly/play around!
I recently took a group of 25+ here prior to an event and we had an amazing time! Ryan made sure that we had a designated area for our group to enjoy food and drinks, we had the best service from the servers and bartenders, and the food and drinks were perfect! Plan on stopping by anytime I am back in St. Louis!
First time here, we LOVED it. Drinks were great. Amaretto Sour Slushie was 10/10 for sure. Our Buffalo chicken pizza was good. Games were great. Galaga, pinball, skeeball. The upstairs has Nintendo 64 consoles, and we played Mario Kart, and Pokemon Colosseum. Next time we're in town we will definitely be back.
A great addition to downtown STL. An arcade just like you remember from the 90's complete with Skee Ball, Pinball, and other various video games both old and new paired with a bar. Grab a drink, play some games, have the best time you ever have since you were young!
Really enjoyed this place. Phenomenal DJ that spins there on Sundays from 7-midnight. Decent food selection and fun, vintage games to play including N64 games.
4 stars for the enormous beer selection crowding the rows of coolers behind the bar but having not very many arcade games and mostly newer pinball machines keeps it from a 5. Ghostbusters is a lot of fun so be sure to check that out. The upstairs and a portion of the front downstairs is dedicated to reserved consoles spaces, so if you wanna play Goldeneye, Mario Kart or Smash Bros be sure to reserve a spot.
This place is amazing. Not only is it a blast to visit casually, but I celebrated my anniversary with my husbnd here. We had our first date here so it was a momentous occasion. I reserved the lounge upstairs by emailing thru their website. They were VERY responsive and SUPER helpful and friendly. SUPER IMPRESSED! Peter, the hospitality manager, made my night a memorable one! They gave us 5 star service and made us feel special we will definitely be back humorously! Thank you Start bar for helping me surprise my husband!!

Great concept. We were there during Mardi Gras weekend and it wasn't too bad. Music was good, they had a live DJ. The games were okay. A lot of them had beer spilled all over them so I left feeling like I had just got done cleaning up spilt coke with my bare hands
I recently had a great experience at Start Bar. The staff was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and the drinks were delicious. I would definitely recommend Start Bar to anyone looking for a great night out.
