Veg-friendly Vietnamese with Friendly, Fast Service
My husband and I went to Wayside Noodles on Saturday after arriving in Sacramento in the early afternoon. The restaurant had just one other table occupied with two people sitting there.
We were promptly greeted and invited to take a seat wherever we liked. We were given water quickly (it was really hot out!) and menus. After a few minutes they server asked if we were ready and we finalized our selections.
I ordered the Chicken Crunch Salad but replaced the chicken with tofu and the Spring Rolls with tofu to share. My husband ordered a curry-type dish (not sure what it was called) and then our server was off. Being vegans, we inquired about whether or not the dishes had any dairy or eggs.
After a few minutes ,the server came back and told us that they couldn't make the curry vegan, the coconut milk somehow had dairy in it. My husband was given a menu again and he tried ordering again. He tried to order a few more items before settling on what he actually ended up eating, the Drunken Noodle.
Overall, the food was tasty, enjoyable and fairly priced. The atmosphere is relaxed, clean and friendly. In a pinch, I'd eat here again. The tofu is bland but their sauces have flavor.
Upgrading to 5 stars from my 4 star review a few weeks ago. I have found myself back here several times now and have tried a few more noodle dishes. The ingredients are fresh. The service is quick and everyone is super nice.
A good convenient location near Chavez park. The food is in parity with other Vietnamese-Chinese restaurants in the Sacramento area. It does become busy quickly around lunch during the weekday.
No Question Waysides Noddles is first stop when I am downtown to eat . Hands Down . My mother never had Pho . I took her there and she loved it . I can eat Pho year around with question. Check out Wayside Noddles Downtown Sacramento .

Tasty food but they are very slow during the lunch hour. Be prepared to be there a little long. Or perhaps try an early or late lunch. Good for dinner too.
Best vegetarian PHO soup ever!
The pho noodles is really delicious and the bowl is really big!! Even a medium bowl is still large and I love it!! A large bowl is an extra large bowl!! The combo pho noodles is a must try!! ^_^

Great service, Amazing Beef Pho, nice atmosphere. . Music was kind of loud for my dining taste, but a nice experience.
Very good food. My favorite pho place I have tried yet. And in a very nice location
