I had the pleasure of stopping in here for the first time yesterday. My wife and I have talked about going often, but one thing or another has came up and kept us from giving it a try. We met some friends for dinner, and it was great. I ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, pulled pork and jalapeno cheddar sausage, my sides were french fries and mac' n' cheese. It did not disappoint. We finished off our dinner with an apple cobbler and banana pudding. We will be back for sure. The service was great also!
BEST BBQ spot in town!! My favorite food is BBQ and it’s very hard to impress me. Sammy Lue’s restaurant made me feel like I was part of the family! Food was delicious! Customer service was on point! Its a great place to eat and hangout at! Management made sure everyone was taking care of and it’s very hard to find customer like that! Will definitely be back again! Found me a new BBQ spot to eat at 😋😋
Why must there only 5 stars? This is 5 star plus. The food was absolutely delicious. The chicken fried steak was one of the best I've ever had. The meat was top quality never frozen, made in house, no gristle, just tender juicy steak, breaded to perfection. The potatoes were excellent and the gravy did not need extra seasoning. The green beans were homemade southern. The BBQ beef was lean and faultless. The BBQ sauce was just right, not too sweet. The onion rings were outstanding, have never tasted better.
This place is small, and the outside strip mall facade does not reflect the quaint old time charm of the interior. Wish I found Sammy Lou's sooner.
This is simply delicious Texas bbq with a friendly wait staff and rapid service. We ordered a couple three meat plates and tried to get one of everything in order to sample as much as we could. Every item was absolutely amazing and the sauce is so good you'll just keep wanting more. Don't forget a slice of pecan pie! It is pretty small and doesn't look like much outside but it's a true gem and worth your time and money! Can't wait to go back.
We were hungry after church and my husband said BBQ, so we tried this place. We had the brisket, cheese and jalapeño sausage, smoked turkey, and catfish. All of it 100% melt in your mouth delicious and the sauces are amazing! Best turkey I’ve ever had. The fried green tomatoes also melt in your mouth. The portion sizes are not too big, which is great because I got to taste so many different things.
