Been coming here for a few years now and have never had a bad experience with the establishment or it's employees.
It's a great place with good food and a cozy atmosphere. The bar staff are very attentive, even when they are swamped and they make sure you are taken care of.
For food, it's your standard American style menu with burgers and sandwiches and the like. One of my personal favorites though has to go to the Chili Cheese Tots that they serve here. House made chili and delicious Queso go on top of some nice and hot tots to really give a wonderful savory appetizer or meal if you want to satisfy that craving.
A great place to have fun for a while, or as a stop in weekend shenanigans.
I've been coming to Buddy's since I was old enough to drink (over on Robinson)! The people are a close knit family who always have room for more! Always a great time, good food, and good company!

Justin the bartender was outstanding. Very friendly and attentive.. The burger was good not great but its a burger..jalapeños were good but the bacon was burnt. Overall I really like this "dive bar" experience. Had a wheat beer and it was really good.
We were out on a Monday night just looking for a karaoke place. We got there very early but spent the evening talking with the locals and our bartender. All I can say is this, Buddy’s reminds me of Cheers. It was a great place to just go hang out with friends. Enjoy good conversations, food, drinks and then when it was karaoke time, the place was so much fun! Don’t miss going there. They’re a Richmond establishment and I look forward to going again soon! Good local spot feel and service!! Waitstaff and bartenders move with purpose, and they don't stop! Philly cheese was good, burger was really good, tater tots are great! Oh yeah, the wings are HUGE-order them if you like your wings to be perfectly cooked with lots of meat on them!(aka pterodactyl wings)!

i love this place so i’ll keep my rating high but I just had a very rude experience with the younger girl who was opening today. never seen her serving at night so i guess she’s a morning gal.
popped over to buddys when i was pumping gas at 10:47 ish to ask about buying a t-shirt. she grumpily answered the door (which i get, opening a restaurant sucks!) and when i asked her hey would you
sell me a t-shirt right now? she was so rude and replied no. you’ll have to wait until 11. and closed the door, rolled her eyes and walked away.
if i was arriving at 10:20 or even 10:30 I would soooo get it… but you’re literally opening your doors in 10 mins and you can’t sell me a t-shirt…?!??! ah. that’s ok i just wish she wasn’t so rude!!!! so, i took myself over to joes inn and bought a t-shirt there.
i spend about two nights a week at buddys and really hope she doesn’t serve me in the future. happy holidays tho!!!
Can’t say enough great things about Caroline. Wonderful bartender, truly cares about her job and everyone at Buddy’s. I would go again just for her to be my bartender
It's where I met my girlfriend at 1:00 am on a Sunday night / Monday morning for karaoke night. One year later and we're still together ( despite her best efforts to murder me in my sleep ). You'll meet a very diverse group of local weirdos there🤪
Their brunch was amazing! We tried their stuffed jalapeños, BLT with pimento cheese, chicken and waffles, and their burger. We got tater tots on the side - fabulous! Their amazing bartender made us a Bloody Mary that was to die for. He was also an amazing waiter!
That bartender woman with braids was the nicest person i ever seen for a very long time drinks also good too. %100 percent recommended
YOOOO that Texas Burger tho!
That thing was incredible, but then you used frozen crinkle fries.... all the love, tenderness and thought in that Burger was brought down a tiny bit. But I'm still getting one next time I'm in town
This place is a gem! The burgers and sandwiches are really good, not to mention huge. You could easily make two meals out of them. The service is excellent as well, we had multiple servers come by to check on our table and refill drinks. Prices are very fair.
