Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant Richmond VA was an awesome holidays quick girls’ trip experience. We drove almost 3 hrs from NC with an 11am reservation. Due to traffic, we were 30 mins late. While the first hostess could not find our name/reservation, another quickly assisted & found us. We were seated promptly. The waiter, the waiter in training, the floor manager and general manager were AMAZING. We explained we drove 130 miles almost 3 hours for a good food & drink experience. They ensure we had an EXCELLENT food & drink experience. Food was delicious and arrived in a timely manner. Brussel sprout are a favorite. We had flat bread, risotto, steak with parmigiana fries, surf & turf. There was confusion on the number of flights ordered. It was quickly remedied. Jake, the floor manager, checked on us and our experience and spent time listening to, talking to, sharing with & caring for us. He told the GM about us and she came with a complimentary bottle of wine for us. They allowed us plenty of time to rest quietly and chit chat before we hit the road for the 3 hour trip home. Note we also placed a couple of orders to go. They nailed it with accuracy & packed it securely. We were not finished. We ordered bottles to go. The line was long. We were conveniently allowed to check out at a shorter register. The only negative was that they did not have the popular Tempranillo wine. Great girls day trip!
Love this place. I'm from Illinois currently living in NC. I use to be a part of the wine club and would frequent often. Once I moved to NC where there isn't a CHW I canceled membership. But i don't mind driving so I rejoined and now make the 2.5 hour drive to Richmond. The restaurant itself is very nice. Located near EVERYTHING including the mall lol. I've visited this location a few times and I've enjoyed. Customer service is always welcoming and the food delicious!
Today my girlfriends and I enjoyed the Cooper’s Hawk Lux tasting with, Mary. This was my first wine tasting and Mary was hands down, simply amazing. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and had such a positive personality. After our tasting, we dined on the patio and the food was scrumptious. I became a wine club member today and I can’t wait until my next visit!
We started with a wine tasting waiting for a table to open. The service was good, but it took an hour for a tasting and we still had to wait once we were done tasting. It was supposed to be a 30 min wait.
We were seated but the service was not great. The food was excellent! We had drunken shrimp to start. We ordered two surf and turfs and the pan seared mahi.
When we finished we wanted to buy a gift set but had to wait another 30 minutes before they could figure out what, where and when.
There's really not a lot to complain about with this restaurant. I found the ambience to be quite Pleasant although ambient noise can be an issue with some people with hearing issues. The service was on point fast friendly and professional. The food was high quality and very good. However you would expect it be prepared to pay on average $40 a plate and $12 for a cocktail on average. If you enjoy wine you may want to take a look at their wine club there are some significant discounts they give you for a low monthly fee.
My husband and I love Cooper’s Hawk! The food and wine are always great but what sets them apart is their service! Lexi was so helpful and recommended this yummy dish! The steak was so tender. I can’t recommend this place enough and when you go, ask for her!
Saturday nights are busy. Also, it is Richmond, so people tend to camp out at their tables, so things can get delayed.
We had Steak, Tuna and Chicken. It was all well-prepared. I totally enjoyed it and the drinks.
Our server, Emily, was delightful and very good at handling our requests.
Everything came out quickly. Overall, this was an excellent place. There are options for everyone in your party and you can trust the kitchen to do things right.
Excellent choice for a business dinner or casual meal.
Coopers Hawk Winery is an absolute must if you are in the Short Pump/Richmond area. The service, food, and energy of this place simply cannot be matched. Marshall is a master level sommelier in the wine tasting room. The atmosphere was excellent. Thank you for a fantastic experience, we will be returning soon!
Had a good lunch here. The lobster crab bisque was delish! We had a great server named Dana who explained certain items on the menu.
I can always count on a delicious wine flight! The Baked Parmesan Shrimp Scampi was delightful and refreshing, very tasty!
