I went to Croaker Spot last night for the 1st time but it won't be the last time I assure of that . The food is outta this world & very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get . I brought home enough for 2 more meals . The friendly staff was great also the place was packed but the service did not suffer because of it . So if you like great seafood at a great price & great friendly service I highly recommend the Croaker Spot for a great night out on the town ...
Great soul music playing and upbeat atmosphere. The shrimp and grits were rich in flavor with a hint of sweetness. The ranch and cheddar grits are the bomb! You have to try the fried fish and make sure to add a side of mac & cheese. Definitely coming back.

Croaker's Spot has yet to disappoint me and my company. And this is my fourth visit there. It's a great place to take visitors. The macaroni and cheese were great. The crab legs were small, but just right in taste. The waiters are friendly as if you've known them forever. Great portion sizes too. You'll surely need a box.
My only gripe is that they only serve collard greens at the Petersburg location. You may want to expand the current spot.
Shrimp And Grits .... Best shrimp and grits I've ever eaten - Perfect, perfect, PERFECT ... period.
And as a bonus, the best cornbread on the planet.

F-A-N-O-M-I-N-A-L. Went there Tuesday with 6 friends and everything was absolutely scrumious! Now I'm from the south and have eaten tons of corn bread but when you can eat a small brick of corn bread with no butter! You are in heaven! I had the seafood chili but it was more like jambalaya and it was to die for- loaded with seafood! The serving sizes were huge! This just became our new favorite!
Great place for seafood cooked in soul food style. Well sized portions and friendly staff Five of us dined and each tried a different dish. Four went for the seafood and not disappointed. Fifth tried the southern chicken and the gravy was tremendous.
THE BEST!!!. The best restaurant food I have had! Service was wonderful, food amazing and sweet pea mixed drink was great! I live in North Carolina but will be back soon just to come here again. Outstanding!!!

Tried this restaurant at Richmond. I heard this was popular around the Va location, so I was excited to try the food here. The food took a long time to come. The corn bread and the shrimp and grits were very sweet, and I didn't like it. It was more of a shrimp gravy, totally different than other places where shrimp and grits are creamier. However, other entres were good. Overall, it was nice, and I will try them out again.
Our server Ya Ya was the best. She served us with Excellence!
The food was GREAT!!! It was our group of 8 first time there. The portions were huge and worth the price.

We visited the Croaker’s Spot on Labor Day. We planned to visit another restaurant but it was closed and lucky for us because the food here was good! We ordered the Eggleston’s Fried Fish Boat and Famous Fish and Shrimp Fry. We substituted one of the sides for mac and cheese.
The food was nostalgic and gave me a sense of home. The fish tasted like it came out of my grandma’s kitchen years ago. The mac tasted like my family cooked it as well. The cornbread was huge…I didn’t finish it all but it was good.
I would recommend this place.
Woooo baby! Totally enjoyed my crab cake dinner. Had plenty to take home. Everything was seasoned to perfection. We all have dinner for tomorrow. The atmosphere was so inviting and the background music brought back memories! I'll be back!
Simply delicious and I read today 7/5 they are a best restaurant for would food I AGREE!! I went 7/2 after a jazz event it was the best soul food in Richmond yes being from the south ..I know..fish excellent nice portions.. Mac and cheese the best yams super duper great!! The lady I met while sitting at bar had the chicken wings she said superb as well .. I will return everytime I'm in Richmond? Aliza the barmaid was perfect perfect service.. place nice...

I ordered the Crab Cake Dinner and my husband the Ultimate Feast. Dessert pineapple coconut cake. Everything was seasoned very good not too salty or spicy.
Overall a delicious experience with a side of cornbread left for a late night snack 😋

So happy my daughter thought about this spot. We was seated quickly and soon greeted by our server Jamilla with a big smile and she was so helpful from start to finish. The food was amazing. Fast, Fresh and Hot and zero complaints. If you're n the richmond area give them a try, you won't be disappointed

Great ambience, our waiter Joshua was the best waiter we've had in long time. He gave us suggestions, read the menu and top plates for us very informative and cordial. Food was great and very well presented, great atmosphere and if you love seafood this is great spot!
I got the fried seafood platter with grits and rice for sides (I know). The fish are shrimp were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The grits were some of the best I've had in a while. The hunk of cornbread was light and fluffy the way Granny used to make it. I will return if I am in the Richmond area again.
