We ordered the Family meal off DoorDash, and the food was pretty good! By no means was it the best ever Hawaiian food, but it was tasty and super affordable for the combo we got. Of the things n the combo, our favorites were the roasted pork with gravy over rice, and the Mac salad. Giving 4 stars because it didn’t blow us away, but it’s definitely a great value
Tried this place for hawaiian and was not really a fan:/ Ordered chicken with mac salad on the side, mac salad did not really have any flavor and chicken just did not taste like hawaiian food to me.
This is IMHO the best Hawaiian in the city. Kahlua pig is excellent, flavorful both in shredded & chunk form. Their teriyaki sauce is SO GOOD. Loco moco is simple, but wonderful grilled flavor in the pattie & the gravy is nice.
The restaurant is still sort of plain post-pandemic, but takeout & delivery are good even if there's a bit of travel.
Super-sized sushi - some assembly required:
1) It helps to have a very sharp chef's knife.
2) Get the ahi tuna poke "Hawaiian burrito" #15 or salmon poke burrito #16 for take out. Have Paul leave it whole (don't cut it in half). Yes - you want spicy mayo & wasabi - which come in little cups.
3) At home, carefully unwrap the burrito and cut it maki-sushi-roll-style with chef's knife; this is a little messy, but still delicious!
4) Add some of the wasabi to some soy sauce - to make it spicy according to your taste - and drizzle on sushi pieces.
5) Spoon out a little spicy mayo on each sushi piece.
So delicious and such a filling sushi dinner for the price you paid! Enjoy!
I like ordering their food for delivery especially when I am in a rush, because it always come quickly. It's also a pretty good quantity and price. It's not necessarily the highest quality food, or the most tasty. Their macaroni salad is a bit bland and mushy, but I finish the whole thing anyway. The kalua pork actually tastes quite good, not tasteless at all, and the teriyaki sauce goes well with the natural pork flavor. Definitely not a bad place!
Affordable and delicious! The guy and lady that run the place are very nice. I asked for chicken katsu recently because they advertise it on the window but not on the menu inside, and the lady almost excitedly went in the back to prepare it and she gave me her recommendation of cherry sauce as a condiment. We don't come as often as we like since the restaurant is across the city from us, but it's always a nice treat when we're in the area.
Wonder gentleman helped me. Food was amazing definitely going to come back.
