I tried this place for the first time about 4 years ago after moving to the area. I've been a regular customer since. The food is great. Love their refried beans and their tortilla chips. I can always count on them for continued food quality and taste.
EL Indio is the Big Brother to El Indio II. It's older of course but the food was everything I hoped for. The building is old but well kept and super clean! I decided to come here during the dead space between 3 and 5 so I could take pictures without making humans feel awkward. My waitress was very friendly and assisted me with picking out my dish. The food was on my table in less than 10 minutes! They have a fabulous wide spaced dining room and special event's section. The bar is full and you can get just about any drink you ask for. On Saturday night's between 9pm and 2am they have Karaoke for those of you that want to polish your vocal skills. Overall this restaurant passed my checklist (including the spotless bathroom) with flying colors! Congratulations El Indio!
I Had the chicken and shrimp fajitas. The taste was pretty great, but the ratios were way off in my opinion. There was wayyy to much onions and very large cut mushrooms. Barely any chicken, 1 tiny scoop of rice and beans (which were sooo yummy) and 5 very large shrimp. The plate also does not come with tortillas, but they do give you chips and salsa so i used the chips to tie it all together. The platter was very big and could easily feed 2 so the price is good.
I will eat here again. Hopefully in the future they change the ratio on this dish to more chicken, rice and beans, and less onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers.
We love this dive of a restaurant. It's nothing fancy, but the food is always good and service is excellent.
What a gem. Super fast service, generous portions, and very well flavored meat. They are known for their fajitas. Very, very good. Los Dos amigos - beef taquitos and beef quesadilla. The highlight of the entire meal was the flavor of the meat. This is definitely the best place to go if you are in Portland. If you are looking for good chili rellenos, this is not your place. Spouse said her chili relleno was not fried correctly and still had egg.
Good food, gracious service with a large group & they got the good out pretty quick
This is a nice place. The people that work here are very friendly and helpful. We went there for my daughter's 17th birthday. The food was good and plentiful. You will most likely not finish your platter unless you have a big appetite. The only reason for 4 stars on atmosphere is cuz of a couple at the next table was fighting. The guy was putting off really bad energy, the way he was behaving. He was talking about how my daughter was wearing a unicorn headband and wings. she was trying to play a alicorn. She's special needs and the way he was acting made us uncomfortable. It felt like he was going to come unglued at us any moment. Thankfully they left about 15 minutes after we got there and the atmosphere changed for the better instantly. They let us bring our own cake and light candles on the cake. They sang happy birthday in Spanish and English to my daughter and that was fun. This is a fairly quiet place and deserves more business.
Everything, every time, is spot on. They have amazing Chile rellenos. Love the Cadillac margaritas. Service is outstanding. I am always looking forward to our visits.
Ate here for the first time a few days ago. There was a big party with a Mariachi Band. It was great! The food was really good and felt like home cooking. Will be coming back soon!
Delicious Mexican food located on Stark near Pulga Fantastica. Service was good and fast. A stop by after a day of shopping. The prices are reasonable considering the food quality.
