Late post
Had been here on labor day weekend.
Totally loved this place. Worth every penny. Awesome food, ambience and the service.
We ordered crab rangoon, tom yum soup, mango curry and thai fried rice. Everything was 10/10. Definitely a stop by if you are in Portland and if you are craving some delicious Thai food.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland and some of the best Thai food I have ever had! I have been there 4 times and each time I’ve been blown away by the food and service. I recently got the Khao Soi to go and it was just as fresh and delicious as eating it there! I would highly recommend it! 3 out of 5 spice level is still spicy but very enjoyable!
The look of it was what drew me in then on the inside it is just absolutely beautiful. The food was fast and DELICIOUS. My daughters got yakisoba and loved it. It was a good proportion and same goes for my Larb. That yakisoba was hands down some of the best! There’s also a nice lil wine selection.
What can I say. One of the best authentic Thai restaurant outside of Thailand. Ive travelled to Thailand 6 times and tried all the famous local places, and for sure this place can also succeed in Bangkok.
Family run by Thai people, many essential ingredients straight from Thailand. The owner Anirut is super friendly and helpful.
Try all the menus, especially the mushroom fries and fresh spring roll with amazing peanut butter sauce.
And also spotless clean bathroom.
I love my Pad Thai here! Affordable prices and great service.
One of the best if not the best Thai restaurants I have had in great Portland area.
Very flavorful Tom Yum Soup on spicy side. You can taste lots of herbs and ingredients.
Red curry is on the more watery side. Full of coconut milk flavor as well.
I think it’s a family own business. Very friendly people. :)
ZAAP is without a doubt the best Thai restaurant in Portland and one of my favorite places to eat anywhere in the world. The food is incredible and the family who runs it couldn’t be nicer. It’s so apparent how much they deeply care about the food they present and the experience of their customers. Order one of everything, have a feast and enjoy your life. 10/10 again and again!
I've eaten at many Thai food restaurants around Portland, but this place is outstanding. Seriously. Don't waste your time anywhere else. Took the family there for the first time tonight, and I was searching for a new place and saw the 4.8 rating. We had the fried tofu as an appetizer and it was fantastic, the tofu was light and fluffy and it had the perfect crisp - you can tell when it's pulled from a fryer at the right moment - with a sauce that was a mix between peanut and sweet and sour. Then we had the orange chicken - mind-blowing. All sauces there are from scratch and you know it when you taste them, the depth of flavor is <3. We had the spicy eggplant, pad see ew, pork belly as well, all excellent. We got to speak with one of the family members that run the restaurant, Beer, and and all the recipes come from his g-ma and he was a joy to speak with. Highly recommend, and the prices are incredible. This place is my new obsession 😍, and I can't wait to try the curries and everything else.
The yellow curry is my favorite meal & they make it so well! It's so delicious! There is usually no parking because it's on a busy street on MLK. You will have to park elsewhere then walk to the restaurant.
We finally tried Zaap Thai and wish we had gone sooner! We had apps (crab rangoon is insanely good), soup, and stir fry. The flavors are built upon all of these layers and we have missed unique, handcrafted Thai food. If you like hot, get medium. Can’t wait to go again.
