A small cafe at the corner not far away from the Portland Convention Center, where this year’s ASIC Coffee Science Congress was.
I had the pleasure to taste espressos from Central America. There was even a barista from the respective origin country representing her beans 😍 - from the bean into my cup.
The space was beautifully decorated and I especially loved the colorful packagings.
In General I loved the Speciality Coffees in Portland, Oregon. They were well roasted, light but still well developed to get a very balanced cup profile. I left this cafe a little over-caffeinated 😎👍.
Close enough to PSU to walk easily, far enough that it’s not crowded by students or faculty/staff. Kinda upscale business-y, but also low-key. Like. You get the vibe that it’s quality and well-known, but little thought of. Which makes it kinda causal. But also fancy. The coffee is dope. I’ve had drip and americano here, both are great. A small selection of alcohol is available for your afternoon indulgence. There’s even a happy hour!
My boyfriend and I flied to Portland in a normal weekend just to experience a coffee crawl in Portland. By the way, we played this a lot in San Francisco and it was definitely fun if you are a coffee aficionado.
Anyway, knowing that they have free cupping session in this particular store every Sunday at noon, we decided to go since that it's the best way to interact with their barista and at the same time, taste their coffee.
Their barista was extremely friendly and knowledgeable! We did the cupping session together and discussed the taste and smell of different beans in various conditions. It was fun and insightful!
Good design. Good coffee. if you are planning on working for an extended period there are no power outlets. Nice drip 2.50 with one free refill
Quiet atmosphere, music is super low.
An outstanding coffee roaster who not only produces some of the best coffee beans PDX has to offer, but has also essentially mastered at the art of brewing them into some of the best espresso, dare I say the best in town. You get it all here: high quality, service, knowledge and (perhaps most importantly) consistency.
While mornings can be quite busy, there is ample seating both inside and outside on the sidewalk, which can prove to be quite lovely on a nice day. If you try them once, you will go back—again and again and again. A/A+
Nice local coffee shop. Delicious coffee and muffins. Friendly staff. Nice chilled atmosphere on a Sunday morning. Nice decor and merchandise available for purchasing on the side.
Clean sitting area, outside seating, simple menu. Didn't try their pastry options, but the coffee was tasty. Prices are comparable to other coffee shops in town, aka a bit pricey. Only been there once though, mid day. Limited street parking only.
Chill coffee shop with ample space to work alone or in a group. Grabbed a mug of coffee for here and it came with a refill for $3. Free WiFi, quiet and good service. Parking may be challenging but was able to get street parking out front for 2hrs
Great coffee, and the avocado toast was different and really tasty. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Great local shop with some amazing sparkling teas. I live in Vancouver and will continue to make the trip over here as it's the only place that I've been able to find with these amazing teas.
