It almost felt sac-religious to walk into the old Humdinger and order chicken wings but my guilt was put to rest when I realized this was an entirely NEW experience. Humdinger’s has its place in history and now it’s time to take a new culinary chance. I had already predetermined this was going to be my new favorite and another 5 star rating but surprisingly I left a little disappointed considering Thai, Laotian and Vietnamese are my favorite foods and PokPok does a great job at combining these flavors while adding its own unique Pok twist? I appreciated the cleanliness and simplicity when I walked in. It was almost closing and the counter man was nice enough, the other two cooks never once looked up or smiled. I had to ask about the menu and it was a chore to get details on The dishes. The merchandising online is very effective and brought me here yet the actual food was far less exciting than the puffed descriptions. Boy... I am not sure what I thought a ¼ pound of peanuts was going to look like but certainly not the size of a large handful. The chicken dog had great flavor but was just a wee wiener in an oversized package. I thought two large orders of wings would be enough for two people yet I was still hungry even after devouring the sides of coconut and sticky rice oh and don’t forget the 1/4 pound of peanuts and hot dog I ate before I left the parking lot. On a good note the wings were the entire wing, plump, tender with good flavor. I didn’t mind holding my breath pretending I wasn’t smelling fish but it wasn’t easy explaining away the “fish sauce” smell when I served them to someone who doesn’t think fish and chicken should be in the same sentence. A true food connoisseur might think this equals a wet dream. The wait time was reasonable. I sat and took photos while I sipped on a PokPok soda, an Acquired taste for sure. The cost seemed a little high based on the portions although they did just open so I will try one more time as some of the other dishes seem worthy. Maybe the next round I won’t have any expectations so it will have a better shot at earning a 5 star review. I’d love to know what you think... To be continued....

A solid four stars that could turn into a 5 as Pok Pok expands to a western location serving up the favorites such as Ike's Fish Sauce Wings, Steam Buns, and Papaya Salad. A grab-n-go location, the building houses 8 or so stools, a cold beverage case, a window to observe the papaya salad creation, and a counter to order from. Future plans include renovating the deck for seating space but for now take out is the clear option. The food is served in classic to-go boxes with a red and white picnic parchment to dress it up. Sides such as pickled daikon and carrot are in a smaller box to keep the liquid from saturating the main dish, which is a nice touch. The only sacrifice from eating at the restaurant is a bit of texture; the crunchy peanuts get s little soggy in a steamy box and the sandwich buns are less toasted by the time you get home. There are no call-in orders to keep production moving although you can use a number of different food delivery options such as amazon and uber eats. Service can be a bit expedited; the small kitchen looks like it gets quite hot and the staff moves quickly, leaving a little room for improvement. Overall, the west side is lucky to have this restaurant. Hopefully it is the beginning of more chefs bringing their goods across the river. INSIDER TIP: put in an order and head across the parking lot to grab a cold beer from the neighboring convenience store, it will broaden your selection and save a few bucks to spend on more food!

Great to have Pok Pok a little closer in. Place is small, super casual (almost a food cart but with about 8 stools indoors and a covered picnic table outside). The fried chicken is stupendous - add with sticky rice and the sweet chilli sauce for a great treat. The Steamed Buns are pretty good, though a touch small. The pork on coconut rice with papaya salad is my go to. Can't go wrong with that one... Try the Som soda - very refreshing and goes great with thai food.

Ooh this place is tasty. There's spicy chicken, seasoned chicken, sandwiches, pickled veggies, tofu or meat steam buns and the classic fish sauce chicken wings. Just wow. Explosion of flavors and lots of choices to be made. Come prepared.

Obviously the wings are amazing. But the bao are incredible also! And they've added new menu items I need to try. I wasn't a huge fan of the fish sauce hot dog- it only made me want more wings.

If only you could call in an order (no phone there). You have to order in person, wait in line, & wait another 20-25 mins. Or you can order & pay online, but you can’t customize you order online. But still, the wings & other food options are addictively delicious.

This place has the best wings. Period. My fiancé and I went here on a recommendation from a friend who knows how much he likes his wings and we were not disappointed. We got 2 half orders one spicy, one not, and the tofu and chicken buns which were also tasty. We loved the wings so much we ordered ANOTHER half order. And what was so nice was they gave us a FULL order at a half order price. I guess they could tell we were hungry! Now if only they delivered to Minnesota...

Fast casual really good chicken wings. And other things too. Decent beer selection. They give you the option of mild, medium or hot for spice levels. I didn't find the hot version of spice level too hot to enjoy the flavors and that's important to me

The food here is just as good as the other locations. I have picked up wings twice and both times they were perfectly cooked and had just the right amount of sauce. If you haven't been to this location, please note that it isn't a place that is meant for "eat in" diners. I also found the person at the front register was less than friendly (I'm just rating the food). One other plus: lots of parking!
