I ended up getting the Pølse in a lefse wrap and my god did I make the right choice. My deep Norwegian ancestry was very pleased with this place, and I can't wait to go back!
Delicious food, lively atmosphere so if you’re going to Peacock Lane, check it out.
We ended up walking an hour from our previous location to reach this truck and it was 100% WORTH IT. Specifically loved the Troll Snack! If anything the extra trial made sitting down and eating the delightfully unique, perfectly seasoned, well presented, and greatly located viking food all the better. Would highly recommend. There are amazing food trucks surrounding, free water available, and covered seating.
Is this the most banging food in Portland? Will Odin or Thor bless you from Valhalla? Can’t say for sure. What we can say: the food here is seriously legit. Try the pickled egg, probably the most beautiful way to get your protein ever. BIG love to these dudes. Will definitely be back soon!
Viking Soul Food - Portland, Oregon
Voted one of the best food trucks in the U.S., 2022.
Portland, Oregon, have played an important role in America’s evolving food truck culture. The have the best street food.
Portlanders enjoy a lot of Asian cuisines, from Vietnamese to Indian curries and famous
Viking Soul Food serves Norwegian (potato flatbread) paired with smoked salmon and seafood chowder. In fact, the trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down in Portland, with an estimated 500 vendors moving about in this city alone.Highly recommended.
Stopped by for an early lunch at their Woodstock location. Lovely person helped us, environment was welcoming as well. Got the Polse lefsa. It was flavorful and loved the veggies added. A bit underwhelmed by the portion size, but I am also used to getting garden monster wraps that are the size of footballs.
My partner got the salmon wrap. She liked it and felt the portion was more than enough. So yeah, it's all about who you are.
Again, flavors are on point.
Honestly happy it's in the hood, but probably nothing I personally go back for.
Wow! I loved everything I ate here. The favors were unique and kept you wanting to eat more! The portion sizes were perfect and reasonably priced for the amazing quality. I cannot wait to come back here again to try everything on the menu. Highly recommend if you are wanting to broaden your taste buds and try something new.
For me to give a list of things we enjoyed would take too long. Suffice it to say, we ordered half of the menus, and it was all a delicious and different experience we'd go back for every week if we lived in the area.
I also feel unmotivated to say how great the staff is, courteous, thoughtful, and great to talk to. Suffice it to say again they did everything you could want them to do and more, yet nothing you wouldn't.
Everything we ate while in Portland was great, but this place was a standout.
We left feeling the concept, but singing a new tune: 🎼 I left my stomach~🎶 with Portland's food trucks~🎵
Delicious combos of flavors. The wrap was $11, but well worth it. One kind lady working the kitchen as she handcrafted these beautiful works of art. I got the Norwegian meatballs with goat cheese. Warm, comforting flavors with a brilliant textures.
The menu looked fantastic. It was difficult choosing what to order. We tried the eggs appetizer and the prose wrap. The lefse was new to us so we’re got a wrap instead of a salad. The lefse was very light and tasty. This would definitely be a go to for us the meatballs looked wonderful as well as the smoked salmon wrap! Go support this place...it is on point!
Enjoy!
