The best part of my work day is a hot plate of comfort food from Lydiah's. A quick hello, a warm smile, and a plate full of perfectly cooked food makes even the worst day a little bit better. Lydiah couldn't be warmer and the food couldn't be any more delicious. My favorite place for lunch. Can't wait for that new location!
I love coming here. Everything that I've had here has been incredible--intricately spiced, varied textures, wholesome, and filling. A great value for delicious food!

Thinking out of the box?? Great fresh lunch with lots of flavor !! Curry! Yum!! Support this small business!
First timer. Went to Lydiahs today for lunch after seeing the dish of the day was Curry Goat Stew. It was excellent. Never thought I'd be able to get Curry Goat downtown. They have a different selection each day, mostly curry dishes. The curry is closer to African or West Indian style curry. They also brew their own ginger beer. This will become one of my go to lunch spots. And the ladies were very pleasant.
Yummy!. I stopped in for coffee once (very good) and the smells were incredible. I learned they serve a home-cooked meal everyday - one meaty, one vegetarian. The samosas are awesome and the Thursday curried spaghetti w/veggies was delicious. I got a small portion + samosa and it was the perfect meal - just enough food and delicious. This is a welcome addition to the many mediocre lunch places downtown. They also have mango juice, teas, etc.
Fresh and different meals everyday
Visited for the first time 6/23/17. Service was very friendly and helpful for a newcomer - she laid out what is included in the daily specials and even threw in chapati for free since it was my first time. Inside was well-lit, nicely decorated, and very clean. I ordered the curried fish, which came with beans in coconut sauce and mung beans over rice. I also got a regular coffee to go, but Lydiah's has other drinks, including a specialty Kenyan tea. The prices were reasonable for lunch downtown ($7-15) depending on what size food order, sides, and drinks you get. Not a lot of seating but it's great for grabbing food to bring back to the office. Sadly no picture of the food - it was too delicious to pause and take one. The curry was slightly spicy, but the coconut beans and chapati really mellowed out the spice. Would highly recommend, and plan to patronize again.
Great food, big portions, price is more than fair. Owner is friendly, good conversation.
4/5 only because while the food is excellent, you don't get much selection, just the one menu item for that day.
If you like fresh curries, this is the place to go. Friendly service and large portions for a great price. The homemade ginger beer is the best I've ever had.
This place is great! Food is delicious and prices and portions are perfect
In ever had Kenyan food. If you've never had Kenyan food I highly recommend this establishment. The food is amazing the service is also amazing.
