Our quintessential neighborhood pub and locally owned watering hole! A gathering spot for our local art scenes in music, comedy, and visual arts. Very supportive of Pittsburgh artists, families, and our blue collar worker communities. Hambone’s hosts events on their stage 7 nights a week and even some daytimes! Open mics for music and comedy, as well as family-friendly open mics, performance showcases, and all genres and performance types welcome! Inclusive environment, LGBTQ+ friendly, people of all races and creeds welcome! Happy hour specials! Homestyle meals and creative specials all in one place. My favorite venue/restaurant in Pittsburgh with the city’s premier open mics! Eat, drink, and enjoy the show!
Not only does this place have amazing D food but the owner Jeff and shown total safety when it comes to taking care of his customers. Into getting a uber or lyft fire safe passage home for those unable to drive. Jeff gets the super save a chick award and 100
This is a great venue for local music. They of course have food and alcohol too. I had the grilled cheese sandwich which was delicious, and a Belgian beer that I forget the name of. Small round stage with adequate acoustics and lighting.
Come for the wonderful variety of live performances. Stay for good beer selection and home style food.
Service can get a little dicey on a weekend night, but no worse than any other bar in Lawrenceville. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, so it's easy to relax and enjoy yourself.
It's a little cozy in the bar, but there are booths and tables in the dining room.
Great food, good beer selection, and awesome bartenders. Sometimes it's packed on a Monday, sometimes it's empty on a Friday; the crowd size can be very unpredictable. This is possibility related whatever event is happening on the restaurant side. Still, it's definitely one of my preferred places to get away from the bars that get way too busy late at night.
Played music here for a festival, establishment was wonderful. The staff treated us very well and the crowd was amazing - supportive and interactive. Good place for food and some love music. Also, for a musician, it was a great place to play and had great sound quality.
Although you'd never expect it from the first sight of this business, the food here is absolutely amazing. It's interior is a bit dated and in need of a makeover, top to bottom, but just like your Grandma told you "don't judge a book by its cover"! Not only are each of the dishes here amazing, but the different events that occur each evening are absolutely devine. On one of the nights that I was here was a musical event where a group of sweet senior Grammie ladies, all were singing songs and having a great time on the stage. The mac n cheese is so killer, I've tried to duplicate it a number of times, but nothing is as good as the original!
I really don't know what to say about this place other than weird. You can tell as soon as you walk in that it's kind of a counter culture spot. The patrons will range from alternative punks to well dressed young professionals. The spot does not seem to fit in present day Lawrenceville. I would stop in for a beer but maybe a bottle not a draft.
Taco Thursday is the best time to go. New tacos every time, including a desert taco, for a couple bucks a piece. Plus I think they have an open mic night that night, I'm not 100% sure since I wasn't there that late.
When I was buying a house in Lawrenceville, there was a place on Butler that I didn't imagine myself going too often, just based on outside appearances. Well, I was wrong about that. The prices are good, the bartenders are good, and the food is also pretty good. I love the comedy shows on the weekends, they have some funny people coming through.
Good bar with space for performances. Open mics, bands, comedy nights, variety shows, game and trivia, even musical sing alongs. This place has something for everyone. Located right in Lawrenceville, it's easy to find and close to a lot of other great places, making it a good spot to start or end a night on the town.
What had been a hole in the wall ultra-dive has evolved from a necessary evil into my preferred cozy local bar. It's not polished, but it is a great place to meet some friends and hang out. The bar is usually crowded, but the diningroom/stage room has tables and ample space.
