The food at Matteo's is wonderful - especially the pierogi appetizer. SO delicious! The drinks are also very good. If you want a great Italian meal with some extras you wouldn't expect to find at an Italian restaurant, you've got to try it!
Excellent dining in Lawrenceville. We have been eight or nine times in the last year, and consistently find the food to be excellent and our serving staff to be warm, gracious and truly interested.
Chef Matt has put together an excellent menu that he executes flawlessly, and the the quality of his staff remains unparalleled. On multiple repeat visits, the kitchen continues to execute flawlessly.
Worth a Try. My husband and I went there on a Saturday night during restaurant week and were quite pleased. Our waiter, Nathan, was one of the best we have ever had anywhere! He was very attentive, but not overly hovering. Our water glasses were always replenished, as were our wine glasses. He checked on us to confirm that everything was alright, even though they were quite busy. Our food was very good and fresh and plentiful (we both took a doggy bag home). We would definitely return.

Unbelievable food and great atmosphere. Couldn't of had a better meal. So good in fact I have been back 4 more times, each as good or better than the last. My wife and I have brought my parents, our neighbors, as well as my sister and her husband, and sister-in-law and her husband. Everybody loved the food and the atmosphere. I have tried a different dish each time I have went, and like I said I couldn't have asked for a better meal. From the seafood to the pasta, and to the steaks, everything has been phenomenal. I love blue cheese mussels, by the way. Service was great at the bar and at the table, we even got the chance to meet the chef and owner, who also offered some suggestions on different bars and lounges around town to have a couple birthday drinks for my sister. Oh and the tiramisu and rum cake were awesome as well. For the quality of food and service the price is spot on, I plan on going back as often as possible.
Consistant customer. I love Matteo's. The food is consistently good (with plenty to take home) and the atmosphere is fun. If you're looking for a great bottle of wine, you'll want to bring your own. The crafted cocktails are excellent. Whether lunch or dinner, I've not had a bad experience there. Love it!
Delicious!. Matteo's does not disappoint! With a variety of original dishes, great atmosphere, and excellent service, Matteo's has secured my dining loyalty. The food is always amazing! Just thinking about it has me craving their warm bread and spiced dipping oil, not to mention the Beans and Greens with sausage- and that's just to start. I'll definitely be going back again sometime soon.
