Made a quick trip to Philly to get some eats! Of course, knew we'd have to pick up some of the paper wrapped sponge cakes from St. Honore. We called ahead to make sure they would have them and ordered 3 dozen. When we called ahead to order, we gave them a time for when we'd be there to pickup. So, we checked in and asked if we could come back in an hour or two. They were very accommodating. And while we were there, they sold out of egg custard tarts, but said they had more to be baked. So, we ordered 2 dozen of those to pick up as well! The egg custard tarts were hot when we picked them up. So, if you're getting them to go and driving home, be sure to open up the boxes so that they don't sweat and get soggy. We ate a few while they were hot on the drive home! The paper wrapped sponge cakes are delish. They're also half the price of what I'd pay here at home in Maryland! They're light and fluffy. Just the right amount of sweetness. My mom likes to freeze them so they last longer. She'll take a couple out of the freezer and thaw them and they're still great! If/when I make it to Chinatown in Philly again, I'd stop here to pick up more to bring home.

One of my favorite Chinese bakeries in Chinatown. Really friendly people and a good selection of buns. Pictured: top-two coconut tarts, mid left-coconut custard pineapple bun, bottom left-bbq pork pineapple bun, middle-two red bean pineapple buns, right-bean paste sesame ball. Visit around late august/September to get fresh mooncakes! 🥮 They are so yummy!

My favorite bakery in all of Chinatown. Looks very unassuming from the outside and inside, but the baked goods here are so much better in quality and taste than the other places. The buns are extra soft and fresh. My favorite one is the "mitosis" shaped buns with the bolo bao butter crust and char siu filling. I could eat a dozen of those! Also the yingyang coffee tea drink here is amazing. Always grab that to go whenever I'm here.

Sponge cake was spongy and light and mini coconut buns had small amount of fillings in each strip , would recommend.

The owners are super people; always friendly and helpful. They work Sundays. The place is clean and well lit. Their butter rolls and steamed buns are the best in Chinatown. They have a good variety of buns, cakes & cookies - at decent prices. They are my go to place for seasonal items like mooncakes. Of the many bakeries in Chinatown, St Honore is my #1.

I was walking around Chinatown trying to find a bakery with good prices and I looked through the window and saw a matcha roll cake for $4.95 so I walked in immediately. The cake was so good!! I also got the $1.50 ham and corn pastry which was delicious as well! I am thrilled to have found such a yummy bakery with amazing prices :)

Every time we go to Philly we always buy all her sponge cake bread thingys. Delicious. I will bring a cooler with ice next time so that i can take some home or they will go bad if not refrigerated. Yummy yummy!

This is probably our most-visited bakery in Chinatown! I'm a huge fan of their egg custards, and during the mid-autumn festival season they have wonderful mooncakes. It's definitely worth stopping in here for some dessert to take home after a meal in the neighborhood.

My favorite place for eggtarts in Chinatown! I went to all the bakeries to try them and they were my favorite. They seem to bake throughout the day and they are usually hot out of the oven. The other items are delicious as well, especially the mantous.
